Description of 1955 Chevrolet Other Pickups 3100

I purchased this truck in April of 2002 with the intention of restoring it. Well. the restoration never happened. but I have kept the truck running over all these years. I've only put a few thousand miles on it since 2002. It has been used mostly for trips to the dump and the recycling center. I generally run a tank of gas through it every year. The odometer shows 71. 89 miles and I have no idea whether that is actual or not. I replaced the spark plugs and wires so they are all the same brand now. rebuilt the carburetor. and replaced the fuel pump. I still have the original fuel pump with its glass sediment bowl and it will go with the truck. This truck is a good solid base for a restoration project. As you can see from the pictures the cab corners and floor are solid yet. It still has the 6-volt electrical system. Those with sharp eyes have probably already noticed that the heater core is not hooked up. It started dribbling antifreeze into the cab a couple of years after I got the truck. so I just looped the hose back to the water pump. I don't drive it when it is nasty out anyway. It still has the original drum brakes. That means EVERYONE has better brakes than you do. Drive it like you are driving on ice. The engine runs well. It doesn't seem to burn any oil (it doesn't smoke). but it is hard to tell because it does leak quite a bit of oil. It has a 4-speed manual transmission. It has a 'granny low' that you hardly ever use. so 2nd through 4th are the usable gears. The engine temperature. fuel. oil pressure. and charge/discharge gauges all work. The speedometer/odometer works. but the speedometer needle swings around a lot so you have to 'guestimate' how fast you are going. On Feb-06-15 at 09:45:18 PST. seller added the following information: I have added pictures of the inside. I'm hoping that will answer many of the questions that I am getting swamped with. Included in these pictures are the gauges with the engine off and cold. gauges with the engine running and warm. the floor on both sides. the speedometer. the door pillar with the id. the rear window. the battery. and the general pile of stuff that I will send with the truck. Someone asked if it runs well enough to drive it onto a trailer. Yes. definitely. It runs well enough to drive around town. Someone also asked if I had any documented history on the truck. Well. in the glove box. when I bought the truck was a receipt for a tire that was sold to Henry Ouidin (could be Quidin) of Sundance WY. from Vines Hi Way Service also of Sundance WY. June 21. 1963. I put this receipt with my title and I will also include it with the truck. I bought the truck from Milton Gray who also lived in Sundance WY. That purchase date was April 26. 2002. Also of note. the clear Wyoming title uses the number off the engine as the VIN. I have had the truck licensed since I bought the truck in 2002. Milton had put new tires on the truck back in 2002 and they are made by Specialty Tires of America. I hope this answers many questions.
