Description of 1949 Chevrolet Other Pickups

You are bidding on "The Perfect Winter Project" I am offering at NO RESERVE my 1949 Chevrolet Pickup Street Rod project. This truck is a running, driving, licensed and insured vehicle in Missouri. I have been working on this truck for several years and have yet to finish it. Here are the details:
CHASSISThe frame is stock and uncut. This is a cab-on restoration - with bed and front clip removed, the frame was cleaned and stripped, painted with POR 15 and top coated with black enamel. All spring shackles and bushings were replaced. The 4 wheel drum braking system is completely new including master cylinder, brake lines, hoses, cylinders and shoes. Drums were turned. The rear axle is a GM 10 bolt from a mid 70's pickup. (ratio unknown).Drive shaft is custom from Driveshafts Unlimited. Parking brake system is functional. New dual exhaust system with glass packs. 15" Chrome wheels with baby moon hubcaps and black wall radial tires.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONThe engine is a 160hp 283ci 2-barrel V8 from a 1958 pickup - it was in the truck when I acquired it. I have pulled and cleaned the oil pan and replaced the oil pump. The water pump is new as is the generator. Engine was cleaned and painted, valve covers were powder coated. It also received a complete tune up with new plugs, wires, points, cap, coil and wires. The engine starts right up and has great oil pressure when cold... when warm the oil pressure falls off and it will occasionally smoke a bit. Engine probably needs rings, valves and bearings. Transmission is a stock Turbo 350 which as been serviced with fresh fluid, filter, and front and rear seals, dipstick tube and plumbed to a transmission cooler. The carburetor has a kick down switch and the truck has passing gear. Shifter is a Lokar model.
NEW ENGINERather than rebuild the 283, I had a 355 Chevy professionally built with all new internal components. Seasoned Corvette engine block. Engine is complete, filled with oil, and ready to install. You can see all the powder coating, chrome, and aluminum. Over $3K invested. Engine will make 350-375 HP
BODYAll the major body work is done. This is a RUST FREE truck. Passenger side floorboard was replaced with new sheet metal, both inner and outer cab corners were replaced, rust free doors came from Arkansas, front fenders and hood were the best we could find in a vintage bone yard that had dozens of these trucks. Tailgate, grill and bed sides are original to the truck, bed front panel, bed strips, rear fenders, front and rear gravel pans and side splash pans are all new sheet metal. Running boards are original, repaired, and painted gloss black. bumper brackets are new as are 3 of the 4 door hinges. Door glass is new with chrome housing. All new door weatherstrip, inner and outer seals and regulators. Fender welting is also new. The truck is ready for final body work and paint. The bed is made from hand selected red oak boards and cut and routered by a carpenter car buddy of mine... I added 3 coats of polyurethane and installed them using a new bed mounting kit.
INTERIORDash, doors, and windshield are painted Chevrolet Victory Red single stage. Door panels, headliner, window cranks and door handles are also new. Rebuilt and restored Chevrolet deluxe heater. Classic instruments gauges. (speedo is electric and intermittent) Seat needs to be recovered and the back half of cab painted. Vacuum wipers work great with new arms and blades. New electric conversion wiper motor included.
ELECTRICALAll new factory wiring harness, vintage turn signal controller, new taillights, new parking lights, new light switch, and headlights. Bed roll turn signal lights purchased but not installed.
JUST FINISH IT!Lots of extra emblems, and bright work purchased but not installed. So far, I have been unable to get it finished. Hopefully you can. If I don't find a buyer, I will get back after it. Truck cover is included.
