Description of 1966 Chevrolet C-10

Up for sale is my 1966 C10 shortbed fleetside. It was painted jsut a couple of years ago but is very nice. Truck has a 250 inline 6 cyl. rebuilt about 2000 miles ago. Engine has a nice RV cam to give a bit more power. As well as an MSD 6A ignition box coupled to the original points distributor. I added power steering. It is coupled to a T5 5 speed transmission from an S10 that was refreshed before installing. This makes it very nice to drive on the freeway. Has original drum brakes all around that do the job. I installed CPP 3" front and 5" rear drop springs for a nice ride height. CPP adjustable panhard bar in the rear. Bed has nice OAK (could use anothe coat of varnish) with stainless steel bed strips and hardware. As far as I know this truck has been in California all its life. There was very little rust repair done before the paint job. You can see in the pics. The truck was originally a teal green. I had it painted a nice pewter metallic with a white top that makes it a bit better in my opinion. All stainless trimm was hand polished; only a couple of trim pieces are aftermarket. New seals all the way around. New chrome door handles. Inside of the bed painted body color. Perfectly straight original tailgate. This truck is a nice driver quality that will get you to your local car show. It drives and handles very well. New upholstery. I get compliments on my truck all the time; hate to sell it but its time to buy a house. No other reason for sale I absolutely love it. Details:1. Has a small dent behind front bumper from a jack that slipped(picutre) 2. Heater box was taken out when painted and is yet to be reinstalled(need blower motor and heater core) 3. Tires are 225/70/15 with very good thread if you installed 235/75/15 it would be even better for cruisinfg speed on freeway. Taller tires would help because of either 3:73 or 4:11 rear end gears. Truck still cruises 70-75 but in SoCal that seems slow now. 4. Missing rear bumper and brackets(have not been able to find a nice paintable rear bumper) 4. The shifter is the original S10 that is a bit sloppy. An aftermarket T5 shifter would be a good improvement. 5. Gas gauge is acting up lately(will try to fix if I have time) 6. I dont know if odometer is accurate at around 77. 77 miles and speedometer is not working due to newer transmission Extras: I have a bracket to install the power brake booster from any other 73-87 chevy truck that I bought and have not used. Also have a set 63-66 C10 airbag brakets for the front. And if you want it I have the original spare tire carrier for under the bed. You can have all this with the purchase of the truck. Buyer responsible for shiping but I will help anyway I can.
