Description of 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210

Nothing brings you back to 1957 quite like Chevy's top of the line Bel Air. Purchased from the estate of the original owner, it is believed to have the original, numbers matching engine in this car. There are clear signs that this car had regular maintenance including original documentation and a GM service schedule.
Big chrome bumpers, rockets on the hood, and tail-fins make it easy to tell when this car was built. It was a time of prosperity. The space program was in full swing, and they had started building the interstate system. People wanted good looking cars to get out and travel in, and this one looks great! The paint really shines and looks like new thanks to a quality midlife basecoat/clearcoat repaint. The classic tail fins are mirrored by a panel on the rear fender, outlined by chrome body side molding, adding a perfect touch of contrast. Just below those accent panels are rare, and special, fender skirts. These are period correct and were installed by the dealers when new. Chevrolet and Bel Air logos on the hood, trunk, and fenders in gold look really sweet against the black paint, and the red white and blue badging on the grill says this car is all American.
Step inside this car and its easy to see that this is great car to load up and take a trip in. The seats are upholstered in red with comfortable textured inserts where you sit, although, as they are bench seats front and rear, its easy for your partner to slide over close while you travel. They are complimented by a matching two tone treatment on the door panels and a red headliner. The steering wheel sets the tone for the dash treatment in red with a chrome horn ring. The upper dash, also in red, contains the speedometer and basic gauges. The center dash, dividing the red upper and lower, has a machined metal treatment with chrome trim outlining it. It contains most of the controls, and also the radio and clock. Out back, the trunk is huge, so there is plenty of room to load it up with anything you might want for a trip to the beach, or the mountains, or a club cruise in.
Open the hood on this car and you will be pleased to see an original drivetrain with clear signs of routine maintenance. That includes what is believed to be the correct, numbers matching, 283 V8 engine. Orange valve covers have the embossed "Chevrolet" highlighted in silver, and it even still has the original oil bath air filter that tops the four-barrel carburetor. Chevy went to a more powerful 12-volt electrical system with these cars, so you get the benefits of easier starting and better performance too. Power flows back through a 3-speed manual transmission for easy driving and gets to the ground through a solid axle supported by leaf springs. The front suspension is a control arm setup with coil springs for great drivability. Stock steel wheels and hub caps on 205/75R14 tires complete the picture. Except that its, where the back wheels are hiding behind those precious fender skirts.
This is an honest '57 Bel Air with supporting documentation that spent its life in the service of one family. Come on down, check it out, and maybe adopt it into your family.
