Description of 1972 Chevrolet Blazer CST Highlander

1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer CST Highlander, SPID is intact showing custom trim combination. Very original Blazer bought from the original owner who took great care of it. Always garaged or kept under a carport. Mostly original paint and all original interior, front seats will need recovered but rear seat is in great condition. Doors, tailgate, and from the trim down were repainted a long time ago, rest is original. Still has original floor mats in it from 1972! Single wall top in great shape, rear hatch is perfect, I've never seen an original top as nice as this one. Has rebuilt 1965 Corvette 327 with approximately 35k miles on it that runs really well, rebuilt transmission and rear end. Column shifted manual, I've never seen a highlander equipped this way, most were promotional packages requiring an automatic, so I've got to imagine it's pretty rare.

This Blazer would be a great driver as is or fantastic start for a restoration because of its originality and completeness, no atrocities hiding under repaints. To say this Blazer was kept undercoated would be an understatement and it really saved the original metal, almost no rust. The only places that would need attention in the future is the rear part of the rocker boxes near the end caps but the rust isn't bad and would be fine to drive as is and the tailgate has two bubbles on it. Quarters, fenders, rockers, windshield frame, and floors are all really nice compared to most out there. Bedsides are very nice and not all beat up with dings. Even the gravel guards are in good shape. Being that it is mostly original paint, it is thin in some areas and has some patina but largely still looks good from 10 feet away. Still has original stickers under the hood. While this Blazer is very nice, it is very original and does show normal signs of wear for a 45 year old vehicle that has been driven. If it were perfect, it would be a $40k truck easy. So please don't expect perfection, but it is a very nice, original, and honest Blazer and if you look for these, then you know they are hard to find this way. They're either rusty or cut up and modified. I hate to let this go because I don't think I'll ever find another one as original but can't keep it right now.

Reserve isn't ridiculous and Blazer is for sale locally so I'm not opposed to ending the auction early for an agreed price.
