Description of 1967 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport

For Sale: 1967 Impala SS - First of all, please read this description and look at the photos carefully. If you are looking to buy and restore a 67 Impala Super Sport, you should consider this car ... I have been working on this car and collecting parts, off and on, for the last 7 years. I started with a very good car, built at the Los Angeles, CA plant. It is a super straight and 99% rust free car. As you can see from these basic photos, all of the hard work is done. I will itemize the details as I proceed with the description. All of the hard to find 67 Impala SS parts are here ! All work has been professionally done ... My priorities have changed and I am ready to pass this car along to someone who wants a very nice 67 Impala and can appreciate the money, time and effort that has been invested into this project .
This car is a factory Super Sport. It was originally Mountain Green with black vinyl top and black bucket seat interior, 327 engine, Powerglide transmission, 10 bolt rear axle, factory A/C, power steering, tilt steering, deluxe seat belts, etc ... My vision for this project was to build a car that GM could have built, but did not. A 'One of None' car built by combining parts and details from the SS 427 cars and changing the color to Silver ... (In 1967, Silver was not offered on full size passenger cars and Chevelles in US assembly plants).
PAINT: The paint process on this car was a huge undertaking. The paint is 2010 GM Bright Silver PPG base coat / clear coat (three coats of base over white sealer, then three coats of clear). The Black D96 stripes are custom painted, no stencils here ! After the Silver base / clear process was complete, the clear was prepped on the sides of the car, stripes were mask off and sprayed with black base coat. Then, the stripes were buried under 3 more coats of clear ... The paint on this car is 100% ! The dash (and associated parts / pieces) and steering column are sprayed in gloss black acrylic enamel (the top of the dash in front of dash pad is flattened to the correct sheen). The firewall, core support, inner fenders, bottom side of the hood, backside of the front fenders and taillight panel are semi gloss black acrylic enamel. All jambs are very detailed with no tape lines. Excellent show quality paint on this car ... The photos do not do the paint justice, you actually have to look at the car under the fluorescent lights to appreciate it !
INTERIOR / VINYL TOP: New front and rear seat covers (installed). New vinyl top (installed). New carpet (in the box). New correct profile window weather strip fuzzies (in the box). Still need to buy headliner, sail panels, package tray and door / quarter side panel set.
ENGINE: 1967 396 / 325 horse with 3902406 casting, date matched to the car. The short block is assembled, heads are bare (3909802 castings). The block is bored .060, Crankshaft is 6223 steel GM (standard main bearings / standard rod bearings), Speed Pro forged 10.25:1 pistons, heavy duty truck rods with ARP rod bolts, ARP Main cap bolts, etc ... Rotating assembly is balanced and professionally assembled ... Correct B body oil pan ...
TRANSMISSION: M-22 Muncie 4 speed (fine spline input with large output shaft). Correct 621 aluminum bell housing with correct straight clutch fork and short throw out bearing. Clutch / brake pedal assembly from 67 Biscayne (reproduction upper and lower rods, springs and frame mount).
REAR AXLE: 12 bolt housing from another 1967 Impala SS. Everything NEW ! Eaton Posi carrier, Richmond 3.73 gear set, Moser Engineering axles, Yukon bearing kit ... Complete rebuild with zero miles !
PARTS and OPTIONS that compliment this car : SS427 power dome hood, 5500 redline tachometer and gauge cluster, 4 way power seat, AM / FM radio with Multiplex Stereo, simulated Walnut 3 spoke steering wheel, 4 speed console (All of these parts are in MINT CONDITION) ... NOS taillight bezels / lens, NOS deck lid molding, NOS rear wheel well moldings, NOS front and rear bumpers, NOS front and rear bumper guards, 69 / 70 front disc brakes, NOS hood hinges, NOS hood latch assembly, NOS wiper motor ... Just too much to list, but I am trying ! Please call for more details.
TRIM: I have the original Super Sport rocker panel moldings and rear quarter extension moldings (these 4 pieces are in very nice condition and very hard to find in any condition). The front and rear stainless steel window moldings have been refinished. The original aluminum grille, headlight doors and fender corner grille extensions have been refinished. I have reproduction hood lip molding, fender corner moldings and wheel well moldings. I had the NOS 3 piece rear bumper and 427 hood grille triple chrome plated at Advanced Plating in Nashville, TN.
TITLE: The car is currently registered and licensed in my name in the State of Tennessee. Current Tennessee title in my name with no liens.
TERMS: The vintage American Torq Thrust wheels / M/T tires are not included in the sale of this car. I want to sell the car as a package with everything listed above included. I would consider holding out some of the parts, engine, transmission ... should someone want to take this car in a different direction (LS engine / T56 transmission ... ) I have well over $40K invested, so at the 'Buy it Now' price, I am taking a big loss ... Please understand what you are looking at here ! It takes a lot of time and money to get a 67 Impala SS to this point ! I will accept Certified funds or CASH in person to complete the sale of this vehicle. I will assist you and / or your shipper to facilitate shipping of the car and parts (most all parts are still packaged and boxed from my move here to Tennessee 3 years ago). If you have any questions, need more details or photos, just let me know ! Thanks, Randy (phone:912-667-7731)
