Description of 1940 Chevrolet Other 85

History on the 1940 Chevy Master 85: Vehicle Highlights:-Full Rotisserie Restoration-Dark Blue Mica Metallica Paint-Re-built Engine-Vintage 5 3/4'' BLC Fog LightsThe 1940 Chevrolet Master 85 is a two-door sedan that bridged the upright models of the 1930's and the streamlining that would arrive after the war. The headlights of this vehicle are integrated as if they were merged into the fenders. The windshield is elegantly swept back and the rounded ...contours suggest speed and power. With large mounted running boards, fender mounted parking lights, and a graceful hood ornament that adds a fine touch of luxury. A spacious and compact interior, you'll never feel cramped inside. Chevy's reliable "Stovebolt" six made 85 horsepower delivering a graceful and refined ride. As you open your garage door and the sunlight slowly seeps in hitting the gorgeous Dark Blue Mica Metallic paint. The Dark Blue Mica Metallic paint completely captivates you that you take a few moments to stare at the rich vibrant color. No words can do the Dark Blue Mica Metallic paint justice, to truly understand you must see it. The running boards have been re-finished to bring back the vehicle to its original hay-day in the 1940's. As you open the door and step into the cabin you are greeted by the soft and supple New Bedford Cord seat kit. The door shuts with a solid thunk. The entire dashboard and door panels are wood-grained and hand painted. As your gaze shifts to the dashboard the car retains its authentic look from the 1940's with clearly marked speedometer, fuel, oil, temperature and battery. The beautiful 3-spoke steering wheel beckons your fingers to be wrapped around it. As you put the key into the ignition you can hear each individual click as you turn it to the right. Putting your left foot on the clutch and shifting it into first gear the Master 85 takes off with grace and poise as your garage door slowly fades into the background. This particular 1940 Chevrolet Master 85 has received a full rotisserie restoration at a cost of over $60,000. Painted in a Dark Blue Mica Metallica, a 2007 GM color #5963 including the engine compartment. Along with the original straight 6, 216 cubic inch 85 HP engine rebuilt by CarQuest Automotive, Michigan. New Bedford Cord seat kit from LeBaron Bonney was installed. Bright work is in immaculate condition. All gauges, lights work and new fuel lines and fuel tank. Offenhauser aluminum valve cover, dual carter YF carbs topped by K&N air filters and Offenhauser dual intake. Fenton Dual exhaust headers into true dual exhaust. Vintage amber 5 ¾" BLC fog lights installed and working. The vehicle cruises well at 55MPH's. Master 85 comes with cover, shop manual, master parts price, other books and literature.
