Description of 1972 Chevrolet Corvette LT1 Coupe |
| Relisting my 1972 LT1 coupe with a new LOWER reserve. Original steel cities gray 1972 corvette LT1 coupe. M21 4 spd. 3:70 posi rear. PS. PB. AM-FM radio. 109K miles on the body. The original motor was damaged beyond repair and replaced with a GM Goodwrench crate motor that has just over 4000 miles. The engine retains much of it's original LT1 parts such as the original winters aluminum high rise intake manifold. original tach drive distributor. original 8"damper. original exhaust manifolds. original rebuilt alternator. original air cleaner and original valve covers. I just installed a new Comp Cams XE262H cam with new Comp Cams lifters and springs. Also just installed a brand new correct style Holley 4150 dual feed with electric choke and vacuum secondaries. New AC Delco plugs. wires. cap. and rotor. New fan clutch. hoses. clamps. and new ignition sheilding. It runs stronger than the original LT1 motor and does so on 87 octane. It has the correct LT1 exhaust pipes in excellent condition with brand new Dynomax mufflers. Sounds great with a nice lope at idle. The paint is the original color Steel Cities Gray which looks absolutely stunning. There are some minor flaws which are hard to find and don't take away from the beauty of this car. The underneath was undercoated years ago and appears very solid. I have included a picture of the passenger side birdcage that I took when I was replacing a blown dash speaker and it looks fine! All of the chrome is in great shape. The tranny is the original matching numbers muncie M21 4 spd that shifts perfect and also has a new reverse light switch installed. The clutch is smooth as silk. The interior is the original deluxe black leather thats in really nice shape. I am including a brand new set of seat covers and a carpet to freshen up the interior. All of the dash lights function including the fasten seat belt system and door ajar warning. All of the exterior lights work great including the reverse lights. The speedometer and tach both function nice and smooth. All of the vacuum systems work flawlessly including the headlights. wipers. astro-ventilation. and heating. The car has new brake calipers. brake rotors. brake pads. and flexible hoses at all four corners. There is also a brand new emergency brake lever. The tires are like new on the original and excellent rally wheels. The items that need attention are the seat belt retractors and passenger seat belt bolt bracket. The oil pressure gauge needs a new line from the motor. Everything else works great. The attention to detail under the hood is really impressive. It's one of the most beautiful drivers out there!
