The car for auction....Here is a general description of the process our cars under go for restoration: (1) Completely strip body to bare steel using mixed media blasting or non-corrosive fully submerged chemical dipping process. (2) Body is cleaned and treated with metal conditioner and then epoxy primed. (3) Body is loaded onto a first generation Camaro body jig and measured before fitting replacement panels. (4) All panels are fitted then welded using a liquid cooled resistance welder (spot welding). (5) All factory EDP coating is removed from new panels and all welds are spot blasted. (6) Epoxy primer is applied to body using a two step coating method with a high end clean air system to ensure no contamination or condensation is on bare steel before spraying. (7) Factory glass moldings are test fitted to the body, studs added where needed. (8) Bottom of cab is painted and masked. (9) Car is fit with frame and components. (10) All body mechanics are conducted to align sheet metal perfectly. (11) Blue print body work is conducted using chalk lines and templates. (12) Car is primed and blocked multiple times (as needed) and then dried to prevent material shrinkage. (13) All components are painted separately in our down draft booth. (14) Components are sanded and polished then all negative space (back of fenders and inside car) are painted. (15) New suspension and body components are reassembled.
