Description of 1952 Chevrolet Other Pickups 3100

THIS IS NO RESERVE AUCTIONPLEASE DON'T ASK WHAT RESERVE IS, BECAUSE THERE ISN'T ONE.
I'M ONLY GOING TO LIST THIS TRUCK AS AN AUCTION ONE TIME. IF YOU THINK IT'S FUNNY TO USE A BURNER EBAY ACCOUNT AND JACK WITH MY AUCTION, THE NEXT TIME I LIST THE TRUCK IT WILL BE AS A BUY IT NOW, SO DON'T EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME.
You've probably heard this one a million times, but I really don't want to get rid of this one. I've been driving it to shag parts and run errands for the past couple years and it's been a blast. It's not very often you find these trucks in this kind of shape. Unfortunately, my other projects won't get done unless I sell this one, so up on the block it goes. Also if I keep it any longer, it's probably going to get a dropped axle so please save it from the knife.
As far as I can tell, this truck has been in the Pueblo area for all of it's life. The old man that I bought it from garaged it for the last 20 years. The old man he bought it from drove it back and forth to work out at the old CF&I steel mill here. Doesn't look like it was worked very often as the bed is in great condition. Someone threw down a sheet of steel on the floor of the bed which saved the original wood, but held moisture in and rotted out the bed strips. Those are easily replaced but I didn't even bother because it's still structurally strong and adds a little character.
The typical places where rust forms at the bottoms of the doors, fender to cowl, cab corner and running board to rear fender areas (see photo) are in great original condition without any rust outs which is amazing! It's hard to tell what the other undercarriage photo attached is, but it's the bottom side of the floor pan! I didn't even bother painting it, just gave it a good pressure washing. That's how super clean this truck is!! If you hate rust as much as me, I guaranteeyou won't be disappointed with it.
The seat has been recently upholstered. Ended up scraping off a couple layers of spray paint to uncover the original paint on the dash and doors! The white walls are not painted on but they are turned. All of the glass is good. It's super fun to drive and definitely gets a lot of looks. It steers, stops and runs great with no leaks. Fires right up even when it's cold or has been sitting for a while, heater blows nice and hot and loves low octane gas. It stays nice and cool with the new aluminum radiator and the temp gauge rides right at 180 all of the time.
It's in super clean original rust free condition except for bed strips and modifications listed below:Rebuilt full pressure 1957 235 straight 6. Upgraded with aftermarket hydraulic lifters, full 12 volt conversion with internally regulated Delco alternator, HEI distributor, new all aluminum radiator (with optional tranny cooler) and electric fuel pump. All of the brake hydraulic parts are new and brake shoes, drums and hardware are in good shape. The carb has recently been rebuilt and front wheel bearings repacked and seals replaced. Everything works including gauges, heater, wipers, windows, doors and front cowl vent.
Made a youtube video if you want to take a test drive. Enjoy

Obviously this isn't a restored truck and there are things that aren't perfect. Weatherstripping is in poor original condition and make the doors and windows rattle a bit. The paint isn't the best and obviously peeling some. The wipers are slow and sometimes cantankerous. If you are wanting a truck to just drive and have some fun with, need a good shop truck for shagging parts around town or maybe do a restoration or hot rod and don't want something that has been butchered up by some hack, this would be the perfect truck. It's upgraded enough to make it reliable and fun to drive.
For an additional fee, I have Muncie 319 3 speed overdrive transmission, driveshaft and rear axle out of a 1955 Chevy 3100 Cameo to do a complete overdrive conversion capable of highway speeds. Just did a similar conversion on my '63 C10 and modified the overdrive governor so that it works in all 3 gears, turning it into a 6 speed. It works slick as snot and cruses at 80 mph with the stock 230 c.i.d. straight 6.
Please don't ask me if it will drive without a break down to Broken Pelvis Minnesota. Doubt this thing would have made that trip when it was new and they aren't really set up for highway driving in stock form. Please remember it is a 66 year old truck. With that being said, pretty sure I've worked most of the bugs out of it while driving it weekly over the past couple of years and should be pretty reliable. It is set up for a tow bar also and could be a cheap alternative to shipping costs.
Think the pictures speak for themselves but if you want to see specific areas up close, I'll be more than happy to send you some more.. Pretty sure I forgot some info so please feel free to contact me and I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible. However, please don't wait until the last hours of the auction.
Will assist with loading, but auction winner is responsible for all shipping costs, details and arrangements. All funds must clear my bank before taking possession of the truck.
Thanks for looking and happy bidding.
