Description of 1972 Chevrolet Caprice

1972 Chevrolet Caprice with 52,000 original miles. This is a factory A/C car with a 400 cubic inch small block V8 backed by a rock solid automatic transmission. This was truly a one owner car until approximately 2 years ago. This car was originally purchased from a Chevrolet dealership in Rochester NY in 1972. Original purchase paperwork and documents are included with this car. It was never driven in winter and it shows. It was well maintained when driven and eventually was stored under a tarp in a car port for many, many years. A true friend of mine purchased this car from the original owner 2 summers ago and began a road worthy ressurection, including a carburetor and gas tank cleaning, slight paint touch up and a full tune up. I then purchased this car and replaced the front brakes and muffler. The undercarriage was then completely pressure washed and sprayed with chassis black( this by no means covers up any rust and is only for aesthetics). The chassis, brake lines, floors, trunk and frame are rust free and super clean and solid. The much sought after 400 engine and transmission start and run flawlessly. There are no unusual noises or leaks. This car is mechanically sound and I trust it could be driven anywhere without issue. The engine compartment is clean and shines excellent. The transmission goes into gear and shifts perfect with no issues. The black interior is in excellent condition with minor sun fading on the front and rear seats. There are no rips in the seats. The carpet is in excellent condition with very little wear. The dash has no cracks. The power windows and power seats work perfectly with no issues. The black vinyl top is in excellent condition with just a few very minor pin holes ( not noticeable from 5 feet) in the rear near the trunk. It still shines and present very nicely. The exterior shines very nicely and appears to be mostly original paint. There are minor paint chips and scratches throughout but it presents very nicely as well from 5 feet. The wheel wells and rocker panels are rock solid with no rust. The fender skirts are in great shape as well. The hood and trunk were painted prior to me acquiring the car due to heavy paint chipping while in storage. The paint matches nicely and shines very nice in those spots. The tires actually appear to be original bias ply tires with the original hub caps and wheels. The tires do have some dry rot but hold air without issue. I would suggest new tires for any long road trip but they work great for around town. There is a spare with the original jack in the trunk as well. This is a great and reliable super low mileage driver and would be respectable at any cruise in or car show however it is not Barrett Jackson quality high dollar car. It presents very nicely, can be driven anywhere and looks great going down the road. The new owner will not be disappointed with this car. I believe this is a great value as it comes with original paperwork and owners manual as previously stated. Please do not bid or buy if you do not intend on paying. I have many more pictures of this car that can be sent via phone or email and I am willing to answer any questions you may have but please read the entire post before asking questions. I have described this car in much detail and this is a true start and drive 1972 Caprice that is as mechanically sound as they come. 52,000 miles with original documents. Bid and buy with confidence, the reserve is set at a very fair price, someone will win this car. Good luck and happy bidding.
