Car comes from Louisiana where it has been collector owned and taken care of. Lots of recent work done to it, including the paintjob which is about 15 years old and has held up very well. Has also recently had NEW gas tank installed, NEW FLOWMASTER dual exhaust and mufflers and lots of other little things.
Mechanically it runs/drives great! Under the hood lies a 64-65 Impala 409ci/340hp engine according to casting numbers. It's a REAL 409, NOT a 348 disguised as the real deal. Transmission is a manual 3 speed on the floor with Hurst shifter and pistol grip handle to make it even more fun to drive around. These cars didn't come with a 409 back in 58, but this is what one would have looked like if it had that highly sought after engine. Car starts right up, runs beautifully and drives nice and straight with nice shifting transmission and good brakes. You can hop in and drive this car right away.
Interior is in nice driver quality shape as you can see by the pictures. Good dash and headliner. Carpet is worn and faded but new one is available. Seats in good shape, some wear on tops of back seat which have some tape there. Good door panels with normal wear.
Underside has EXCELLENT FRAME throughout with NO welding or evidence of any major repair from what I could see. Trunk and floorboards do have a few issues here and there but are decent and nothing that can't be fixed.
Although it's a very nice and beautifully presentable driver, it is NOT perfect by any means of course. Paint has small imperfections like small chips, small scraches, couple dings etc as you would expect from older paintjob. Some small items not working like horn and perhaps it may need a couple of bulbs replaced. Chrome is very presentable and shows nicely but has some pitting and wear here and there. Floorboards and trunk have some small holes and will need small patches/replacing to do it justice (hard to see in pictures). I'm sure i've missed a few things so please ASK QUESTIONS OR COME SEE IT IN PERSON BEFORE AUCTION ENDS.
Sold AS IS and WHERE IS with NO WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. Feel free to call me at (917) 749-4302 to discuss it in detail. Thank you all.
