Vintage Race Car built by Mauri Rose

*This car was shown in the Marconi Museum with 53k original miles and 1 owner car!

Yes, this actual car was in the Marconi Museum where it sat with 53k original miles on it by the original owner Owen Menard until his recent death in 2018. His wife Judy decided to sell this historic car to me.

With what seems to be the original GM Corvette 283 1-4bbl under the hood, and lots of goodies that include the original DelCo amp, the radio and original Venetian Red auxiliary hard top! Rare color.

Also has the original chrome gas cap.

ONLY 931 were made without a soft top. This has no soft top.

ONLY 1,320 were in Venetian Red. This has the original correct color!

There were less then 2,000 FUELIES Made in 1957.

This Vette #3,988 made was an early build and has the rare chrome nob shifter on the 3-speed. Also a tachometer! It runs and drives like a dream car should! Fast and tight!

This 1957 Vette went through a full nut and bolt restoration by Mauri Rose personally before his death in 1981.

Mauri Rose (HOF 1996) was famous for not only winning the Indy 500 3 times in the 1940's, but also custom building 1957 Vette Chassis's into Vintage Race cars. This car was one of those few cars and was never driven on the track. Only trailered to shows by the late owner Owen and driven on a few lucky Sundays. Key notes include a reduced chrome body in front and back end for lighter weight and his signature out of body gas cap placement behind the driver side door.

Please see this Vette site for all official numbers. This Vette is a one of one and the production numbers on a 1957 original fuelie, 3speed, radio, hard top, 283 4bbl engine car are staggeringly low. There are maybe a few hundred left.
