Description of 1970 Chevrolet El Camino Custom

1970 Custom VIN EL Camino
RelistedPlease, this is not a game.If you are serious, please bid.If not, please don't.
Nice vehicle here ready to finish. We got this from a pilot who passed away. It was his resto baby and he poured money into it. We were going to restore it, but decided to retire instead and liquidate.
This Elco was made in Van Nuys and has been in CA its entire life. The undercarriage will testify to that. It's in great shape for it's age and has many new parts and upgrades. Like I said, this gentleman poured money into it. After he put the motor and trans in it, he fell ill and the car sat. We put a new battery in it and it cranked right over.

It has
Freshly rebuilt SBC with Vortec heads. The motor and trans have less than 1000 miles.Freshly rebuilt Turbo 350.Built rear end, 10 bolt POSI.Hotchkis Suspension all the way around. Rides extraordinarily well.New Polyurethane BushingsNew Master CylinderNew Rear Brakes - shoes, cylinders, hardware (front brakes were fine so we left them aloneNew BatteryElectric Fans on the radiatorQuick ratio steering boxNew InteriorNew dash pad (fits good, not perfect)Electronic gaugesNew Rhino liner in the bed.Tires way better than 50%Cragar SS Wheels
Aftermarket ACFactory Power Windows
What it needs
There are two rust issues (see pics)The back/lower drivers side front fenderLeft rear lower quarter towards the rearThese are not huge issues and can be easily fixed
The rest of the body work has been basically done. The trim needs to be reattached. You paint it. We believe the original color was gold with a beige interior. Not 100% on that. The blue was a repaint.
While the wiring works, It looks pretty funky under the dash.Wiring was not his forte. We were going to replace it all and make it look tidybut our backs are telling us not to. Not a hard job, just time.
The shift indicator does not work and frankly, is wonky. Replace it. Some funky light up job out of some bargain bin.
This is not a trailer queen. It is an almost done project. Project. Perfect for someone to finish their way. I tried to describe this vehicle as thoroughly and honestly as possible so you know what it is.
PLEASE DO NOT EXPECT A PERFECT CAR.
It needs things but it's also street legal right now, with fresh tags and license plates.
The reserve is very low - 4 digits - we need it gone.Look at the other 1970 Elcos on Ebay and even if you put a couple thousand for paint and bodyit would still be half of what the other's are hoping to get and you'd have an Elco that looks exactly the same as the others.
The sale of this vehicle is final. We reserve the right to end the auction early as it is for sale locally.Pick-up and shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.A non-refundable $500 deposit is due within 24 hours via paypal and full payment within 72 hours. Please verify your funds before you commit. Please no tire kickers.Don't hesitate to ask questions or if you are local come see it.

Thanks for looking!
