Description of 1925 Chevrolet Other Roadster

This 1925 Chevy Superior 2-Door Boat Tail Roadster was my go-to car for club events and tours for years including several long trips because of its reliability. I have driven it from Long Beach CA to Reno several years in a row on both Hwy 395 and Hwy 49 through gold country. Also has been to the top of Pike's Peak in Colorado.

Car travels reliably between 50-55 mph without pause due to this overdrive transmission which was machined into the original torque tube. The overdrive works by an electric solenoid activated by a remote button on the gear shift allowing each gear to be put into overdrive resulting in 6 forward gears.

I purchased this car in 1968 and restored it between 1968 and 1972. Car was in Long Beach, CA until about 1995, then Exeter, CA, now in Springfield Oregon. Has always been stored inside. All steel body, with no rust ever. Paint is acrylic enamel and is holding up well with minor imperfections that you would expect in an older paint job.

Car is loaded with the best of the best original options and accessories from the time period including a 1927 Quota Trophy radiator cap which would sell for well over $1000 alone. A complete list of accessories that the car includes is as follows:

Optima 6 volt battery

  • Chevrolet Moto-Meter temperature gauge mounted on steering column (see photos)
  • Tilt and locking "fat-man" steering wheel
  • Operational gas gauge on fuel tank.
  • Aftermarket period correct Winfield Carburetor
  • 1925 California License Plates - Pair
  • Custom -3 Door hood
  • Exhaust Muffler Cut Out operated via pedal inside car.
  • 1928 Chevrolet Motor - the last and most reliable 4 cylinder motor that Chevy made at the time! Engine was rebuilt when the car was restored and is quit and still does not show any signs of wear or oil use.
  • 1925 4 bolt disc wheels exclusive to 1925 Chevrolet.
  • Excellent aluminum radiator shell - no corrosion or holes, which are typical
  • 1927 Quota Trophy Radiator Cap - This quota trophy is in excellent condition. These awards are rare and sell for upward $1000. The quota tophy includes Charles Lindbergh'sSpirit of St Louis and was only given to the top salespeople within Chevy Dealerships in 1927.
  • Fluted glass headlight lenses (including one spare under seat)
  • Step plates on running boards
  • Rear view mirror with Chevy clock
  • Wind wings on both sides
  • Fully operational top
  • Spare tire mounted on rear of car and complete set of original tools (hubcap wrench, jack, lug wrench, owners manual, hand crank, etc)
  • Overdrive transmission machined into original torque tube.
  • Car runs, drives, and stops exactly like it should. It has no known mechanical issues.

Car has clean California Title but has not been registered for several years.
