Description of 1951 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Restomod

The early 1950s were an exuberant time. The post war economy was thriving, it was the early days of rock and roll, and people were having fun again. That rock and roll attitude carried through to recent days when this car was reconditioned and updated. There are pounds of gorgeous chrome, beautiful colors, a rumbling big block engine, and lots of custom touches throughout. Check it out. As you approach this car, certain things will jump right out at you.... The French Blue paint certainly makes a statement. It looks great with the white roof and all dressed out in chrome. There is a pretty aggressive rake to the chassis that makes the front bumper seem like it's reaching for the ground. Above it is a toothy grill that looks like it might be willing to eat anything that gets in its way. There is an awesome looking rocket leading the way on the hood, which is flanked by a pair of nostrils feeding air to the beast within. The headlights are perched on the leading edge of the fenders which starts a long smooth body line that tucks in nicely between the rear fenders and the trunk. Remote door poppers eliminate the need for handles and give a super clean look to the side of the car. A white roof with matching sun shade is trimmed in copious amounts of chrome, with rocker trim and gravel guards bringing the show to the lower edges. A splash of flash tops the rear fenders and of course the back bumper shines brightly too with exhaust tips peeking out from underneath it. Open the door and you are greeted by a stunning interior. It has been fully customized by building on the classic design elements of the original while integrating modern comfort and convenience to the mix. The door panel sets the color scheme of the upholstery with its two-fabric, two-tone, Gray and Parchment treatment. The dash builds off a body colored base but adds custom touches like the four gauge pods. Yes, there is lots of chrome here too. It dominates the center of the dash and is evident in the framework for the custom white steering wheel. A creative and beautiful center console runs from the very front, just below the Pioneer receiver and Air Ride controls, to the very rear of the interior. It, along with the plush seats, cradles you and your passengers in the lap of luxury. If you decide to pack up for a long trip, you will find plenty of room in the trunk, which of course, is as neatly trimmed out as the rest of the car. Let's talk about that rumbling big block for a minute. It is 454 cubic inches of big power and good looks sitting in a neat and clean engine bay. Dual Holley 4-barrel carbs and a cross ram intake manifold dominate the top of the motor. Just below that, are finned aluminum Chevrolet valve covers. Everything is polished or chromed including all the accessories like the modern 134a A/C compressor, the power steering pump, and the master cylinder. An aluminum radiator with dual fans keeps temperatures under control, and long tube headers get the spent gasses heading down and back. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive sends the power back to a solid axle sitting on that Air Ride suspension we mentioned earlier, and 235/40ZR18 tires put it all on the ground. Up front, a rack and pinion steering system and disc brakes work through 235/40ZR17 tires and air springs to get their job done. Come on down and check out this sweet '51 Chevy street rod. You just might decide this is the car to head out and have some fun in.
