While '76 may not be the most collectible year - an unmodified. original. low mileage classic with no rust problems is hard to pass up. Vehicles of this age cannot get a Carfax report as they do not have a 17 character VIN. From the clues in and on the car. we decided this one was originally in San Francisco. CA and then made it out to Raleigh. NC at some point. It currently has a clear North Carolina title. And being in these 2 states pretty much explains why the car is so solid. We suspected that the car had been of the road for a while before we bought it. which was confirmed when we started servicing it. Since this car has a 305. not a 350 we just did the basics on the engine. We replaced the spark plugs. wires. cap & rotor. rebuilt the carb. replaced the valve cover gaskets and changed the oil. The engine sounds and runs great. It still has a few oil leaks and has not been detailed but we figured whoever buys the car will either add some performance modifications or replace the engine altogether with the more powerful 350. That said. this car does not need an engine. 305's are reliable and long lasting - this car drives fine as it is. It just isn't super fast. In addition to the engine. we also serviced the transmission. replaced the brake master cylinder. charged the a/c. upgraded the headlights. and addressed a host of small items. With such a good body. this Camaro deserved a good paint job. The body shop took their time and it shows. Lots of trim pieces. seals etc. were replaced in the process. Luckily the interior was in outstanding original condition and required only a new headliner and cleaning. We opted to leave the old AM radio as a testament to the originality of the car. It lights up but doesn't really work. On order still is the dome light cover which was brittle and broke while changing the headliner. To really get this car looking good. the original honeycomb wheels were discarded in favor of 15" aftermarket rims and new BFG raised white letter tires (the 5 old ones do come with the car but the tires are bad. ) Please contact us with any questions or to set up a test drive. Out of state buyersAll buyers who take personal delivery. and drive their vehicle from the Auto Focus lot must have at least liability coverage insurance on the vehicle purachased as this is a requirement in NC. The title and registration process and associated costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. We provide airport pick up from GSO at no charge. 3. Deposit and final paymentA deposit of $500 is required within 24 hours of sale. Payment in full is required before a sold vehicle can be released. Vehicles can be paid for in cash. by certified funds. by personal check. once cleared. and by loan check. Auto Focus must be notified within 36 hours of sale as to how the vehicle will be paid for. An important note about the deposit: We try very hard to accurately represent our vehicles. If you are the winning bidder. or agree to purchase a vehicle and are dissatisfied with the condition of the vehicle once you arrive. we will return your deposit. If you simply change your mind. or fail to even come look at the vehicle you have agreed to buy. your $500 deposit will not be refunded. 4. ShippingShipping cost and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. 5.
