| 1981 Chevrolet Corvette T-Top Sport CoupeOnly 16. 88 miles and documented by the CarFax History Report. First Year for the 17 Digit VIN #Rare Factory 4-Speed Car only 5. 57 produced out of 40. 06 total built in 1981. Last year for a 4-Speed until late in 1984 Corvette production. Unique and rare color combination in factory Silver Metallic with Dark Red Leather Interior. This was a Bowling Green assembled car. 1981 was the first model year to be built simultaneously in two locations. The first Corvette was completed at the new Bowling Green. Kentucky. assembly line on June 1. 1981. The last Corvette built at St. Louis was completed on August 1. 1981. This Corvette was built on Friday September 25. 1981. This Corvette is mostly an all original car with one repaint several years ago. The body is solid. original. and virtually untouched. The paint shines well and shows good. The fit of the doors. hood. headlights were much better on the Bowling Green cars. Overall the paint is very presentable and would not be ashamed to show the car. There are only a few minor chips from driving the car. The paint has some small flaking at the very bottom on the front spoiler as these cars sit much lower than other models. All window glass is excellent and date code correct to the car. Weatherstrips are nice and original. The doors still have the labels and markings on them as they were not painted with the car. The paint does match very well. The front and rear bumpers have plenty of flex and no cracking on them. They to are original ones. I do have a new center console for the car that has not yet been installed with shift pattern. The original one is not perfect and the shift pattern has a small ding in it. The interior on the car is all original. Excellent condition and a non-smoker vehicle. No old smell at all. Everything still looks fresh on the inside. Original seats look amazing. original steering wheel with no cracks. original vanity mirror sunvisor on passenger side is not damaged as most you will see. carpet has no stains or flaws. original floor mats in great shape. no wear on the rubber pedals. all gauges look fresh and no corrosion. and everything works including all gauges. radio and speakers. courtesy lights. glove box light. heater. defroster. windshield washers even still work. headlights operate smoothly. and a/c is operating but not extremely cold. I have personally driven this car about 300 miles in the past month when the weather was nice and the car drives out like a 16. 00 mile car should. Performs well and shifts smoothly. Even the key buzzer still works when the doors are open. This was also the first year for a power drivers seat making entry and exit much easier in the car. The tires are new and are balanced out good. Overall a nice example of what a 1981 Corvette should be. The car is a numbers matching car and engine code is correct for a 4-Speed car. The engine bay is nice with the original smog equipment. air cleaner assembly. valve covers. intake. etc. At some point the car has had a chrome alternator and master cylinder cover installed. There has been some routine maintenance done to the car including a new radiator. Gel-Cell Battery. brake calipers redone. Exhaust pipe and new stainless steel mufflers.
