Description of 1963 Chevrolet Nova --

With its tastefully modified exterior adding an extra dose of curb appeal to a classic already equipped with loads of it, this 1963 Chevrolet Nova is one seriously cool early '60s muscle car. It would be equally at home turning heads on the boulevard or on the local car show circuit and, with a host of top-tier components onboard, it's also a lot of fun to drive. While the Nova may not have been the first muscle car, it was... a definite pacesetter for the genre when it was introduced just one year before this '63 rolled out as Chevy's early and able representative in the automotive battle that would soon escalate. The Lemonwood yellow paint it now wears stands in place of the tan hue it started off with and it's not only a more dynamic color than the original, but it looks right at home on this classic - bright enough to catch your eye, but not so excessive as to look gaudy. It's in good shape as well and shows a very nice and consistent shine. A nicely contoured scoop sits on the hood to add some custom cachet. From front to back, the chrome is in good condition - always a welcome sight in a car 55 years old - and everything appears well-aligned, with doors, hood and deck lid that open and close without incident. The black vinyl interior is looking impressively clean. With just a just a couple of exceptions, it's still stock, yet there isn't much sign of wear inside. Both the front and back bench seats have been refurbished to look as they did when this Nova rolled off the line, and the black carpet running underneath them is just as fresh. The black color of the dash area makes its featured chrome inserts really pop, and the original gauges in the instrument cluster are joined by a trio of aftermarket counterparts that loom directly above the white-balled Hurst "quarter stick" shifter, as well as an AutoMeter tach mounted on the steering column. Just above, the dash pad also has been replaced in the not so distant past and shows no evidence of cracking. The trunk area looks to be in great shape - with no lining on its floor, you can see just how solid everything is inside, and while you hope you'll never need it, a full-size spare sits ready, just in case. Raise the scooped hood to see an engine compartment that also has received all the attention it needs to present a clean, freshly painted appearance. A 350 cubic inch V8 sits at its center, armed with an Edelbrock intake, a Holley 4-barrel carb and an aftermarket cam that strikes a very nice balance - it's nothing excessive, just right to provide some extra muscle and a nice lope without inflicting a roller coaster effect on the car's vacuum. If you're looking for a classic you can drive without worry right away, this classic is a fit - it starts up easily and its 3-speed automatic shifts with precision. A look underneath will instill even more confidence - straight frame rails and solid floor pans and suspension components wherever you look. 4-wheel power brakes, with discs in front, provide plenty of fade-resistant stopping power as this vintage car takes to the road on its 14" stock Chevy rims wrapped with Capitol Sport tires. This 1963 Chevrolet Nova represents your chance to put a pivotal early arriving vanguard of the muscle car movement in your garage. Call today!
