THE INTERIOR IS ALL ORIGNAL COLORS AND PATTERNS AND HAS THE ORIGINAL CLEAR COVERS STILL APPLIED. FACTORY SEATBELTS IN CORRECT COLORS. THE DRIVE TRAIN IS ALL MOSTLY DATED LATE 1956 AND THIS WAS ONE OF THE FIRST 57'S NOMADS OFF THE LINE. A OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA CAR PRODUCTION. ALL THE TRIM TAG CODES MATCH FOR COLORS AND INTERIOR VIA THE TRIM TAG. 2,093rd NOMAD AS A EARLY PRODUCTION '57 MADE IN: OCT -NOV -DEC 1956. THE ENGINE IS A CODE DATED LATER 1956 ENGINE, 265 V8 4 BARREL 205 HP WITH A POWERGLIDE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. GREAT RUNNING AND A/C FUNCTIONS AND BLOWS NICE FOR ORIGINAL A/C. OIL BATH AIR CLEANER. CAR HAS THE FACTORY FENDER SKIRTS ALSO WITH CHROME PROTECTORS.
  • CAR HAS BEEN STORED FOR SEVERAL YEARS INSIDE HEATED AND COOLED STORAGE SINCE THE 2005. MAIN RESTORE WAS IN 2008, VERY LOW MILEAGE SINCE THEN 500-750 MILES.
  • THE CARS INSPECTION REPORT ON THE CONDITION IS AS FOLLOWS. VERY SOILD ORIGINAL SHEET METAL CAR WITH ONE REPAIR A LONG TIME AGO ON THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR 1/4. DONE CORRECT AT CHEVROLET AND DONE CORRECTLY. ALL OTHER SHEET METAL LOOKS TO BE 100% ORIGINAL TO THE CAR AND IN GREAT SHAPE. CLEAN UNDERSIDE AND VERY SOLID AND CLEAN WITH LIGHT BLACK PROTECTIVE FLAT BLACK PAINT NOT A GOO, OR HIDE TYPE OF PAINT, JUST A CLEAN LOOK. THE UNDERSIDE COULD BE DETAILED CORRECTLY BY THE NEW OWNER TO BRING IT TO THE NEXT SHOW LEVEL, IF THAT IS YOUR GOAL. GREAT ORIGINAL SURVIVOR TYPE CAR WITH I BELIEVE LOWER MILEAGE. 33,000 OR 133,000? NO DOCUMENTATIONBUT LOOKS LOW MILEAGE ORIGINAL WITH ONE REPAINT.

This is what we know for sure on the drivetrain. It is a Late 1956 date coded motor, installed in a early production 1957 Nomadout of Oakland, California GM plant. Everything is dated late 1956, November '56 and December '56. Theengine, the transmission, and the rear end, even the radiator is K '56.

Showing K and L codes of 1956. The Engine reads: F56A there is no "A" code for '56 or '57 that have a single "A" code. (Note: the only code in '57 for A/C with a "A" code is an "FA" code forAir Conditioning) The manifold is L 6 6 which is Dec. 6, 56 which means it is a '57 production run with a 4 Barrel Carb.It is a205 HP 4 Barrel 265V8. That is a very uncommon combination.Rare it is optioned, and Rarer yet, is the Mystery Motor configuration. Please understand thismotor is a authentic GM motor, but some have said, it is a "very controversial numbers combination".Note:in seeing and researching hundreds of the best & rarest Chevrolets in the world for 35 years, GMhas beenknown for early year production holdovers and number mix-ups /back in these days where stamps trim tags and motors and even Vin tags got the wrong codes for body styles etc. So we have clearly stated "as we know" "what we know", to be100% honestabout the car.

So if you "don't agree" with this information, don't bid, but please know this, it's a GREATRARE 57,no matter what the engine numbers say.Thank you!

  • BEAUTIFUL COLORS THAT SAY 50'S ALL OVER IT! WAGONS ARE HOT, NOMADS ARE HOTTER, AND THIS IS A GREAT INVESTMENT ALL THE WAY AROUND. GREAT CAR TO SHOW & DRIVE AND JUST ENJOY. PLEASE CALL WITH ANY QUESTIONS, OR DETAILS NEEDED IN A NEW PICTURE. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING.
