Rims- Oil Cooler I am the second owner since 1990. A yellow convertible was the pace car for the 1986 Indianapolis 500 race. This marked the return of the convertible body style, absent from the Corvette lineup since 1975. All 7,315 1986 convertible Corvettes (all exterior colors) had "Indy 500 Pace Car" console identification.Lessthan 25% were manual transmissions. This loaded rust-free, no hit, Corvette is finished in Bright Red paint with the Torch Red interior. It has 64k original miles. It is equipped with the 5.7-liter V8 with Tuned Port Induction. It also has a (4+3 seven speed) 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The overdrive was just recently completely serviced and works as it should. It is also equipped with the radiator cooling boost fan, completely digital dash and a rare optional engine oil cooler. The engine has been completely removed and rebuilt by Meyers Motors with many HP adding modifications. (I have the work order document.) But to the eye, the engine appears completely stock. The looks are deceiving because the Vette now puts out over 400 HP! Less than 1000 miles have been put on this rebuilt engine! Many many parts upgraded or replaced. With the addition of a EPROM chip that's tuned, this car can fly even faster. Air conditioning, power windows and locks and a brand new Bluetooth Alpine sound system are some of the features that make this a great ride. This Corvette has the beautiful real Rosewood accents on the complete dash and shift console and door panels. A fewsmall things need tinkering to make this Corvette is mint inside and out. Small brake leak, (eaks when really cold in storage), small chip in windshield can be repaired. Always garaged. The Corvette is known as the only true American sports car and this is a fine example. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer 1986 Convertible Corvette. |
