This 1965 El Camino I have had for awhile collecting parts and done some work on it like installing complete one piece floor pan, quarter panels, outer rear wheel houses, primed and blocked straight whole cab and reprimed (pretty much ready for scuff and shoot “paint”) a pair of front fenders I purchased already in prime, there are two hoods ( one about a 2.5 hr. dent in front center and the other has a small rust hole around an inch big “ easy fix”)There are 3 pairs of doors( 1 pair in real good shape, the other 2 pair I don’t remember but must not be too bad, I was going to fix the worse for the car and sell the rest after I got all I needed from the others) trying to remember that there may be 3 tailgates, but seems like there is one repairable one and there is one I have already put a new skin on. There are 2 10 bolt rear ends pretty sure the one in the car is near trashed “the axle will slide out pushing the car around if not careful”. I have a back glass and windshield in the house along with lower pair of rocker mounding, hood mounding, brand new glove box liner, and a couple of other items “that I don’t remember”. I purchased used front grill, headlight bezels and some other front mauling pieces that are in pretty nice shape, if a remember right I think there was one small piece for on edge of front of one of the fenders I was thinking of straightening out and using it anyway. There is pretty much all the moldings in the addic “ the mounding that go around the top of the bed have I was thinking I would dolly them and use bedliner on them and the bumpers could be straightened and rechromed or bedliner on them too “I have done that before on a car and looks pretty awesome” The 283 SBC ad the 2 speed transmission will need rebuilt. I know I am about to miss something but the extra rear end and extra front suspension pices come from the other 1965 El Camino sitting next to the prime red one that is the blue one, anyway both cars you can have or you can take what ever you want from the blue one and leave it “it is pretty much stripped I think “oh! I think maybe still a steering colum and dash pieces in it but there is a steering colum and I don’t know what in the attic the almost new SS Cragger wheels and tires are for the car too... “I didn’t have them on another car for long “200 to 1,000 miles” there two or three + of most all moldings so at least good enough for a nice driver car, with some rebuild kits, some paint and some later would make a real nice car. The frame has been out and the body is just sitting on the frame “it is the original frame and in very good condition” the motor and tranny are from the donor car but same thing as the original car came out with “ I don’t know about matching numbers though.mileage is not actualAgain it could make a pretty nice car, I just have too many projects and not enough time and kinda burnt out after doing auto body for nearly 40 years, I am sorry I lied “ there are 8 doors or 4 pairs, and starting to remetail light lenses may be questionable and there is no seat but from what you could get out of all the extra parts could pay for materials, etc. to make a nice car...No reserve ! Thank You...On Aug-27-18 at 20:44:33 PDT, seller added the following information: I did mention the prime red body is sitting on a very nice frame not bolted to the frame but frame does have suspension so it will roll, there is a set of junky wheels and tire you can use to roll it or use the cragger wheels and tires. I do good work and have a very good reputation and did a very nice job putting the new complete floor, quarter panels, and outer rear wheel houses, so it could be said “Rust Free” I used POR15 on any questionable surface rust and that stuff really stops rust dead. The wheels and tires cost over $1,200The body panels and materials cost over $1,500 not to mention labor and all the extra parts.The hard part is pretty much done and guess it is worth over $6,000 the way it sets and I probably have close to $5,000 in it not counting labor, but I need to get it out of the way and give the place a good cleaning, and start on something else. maybe sell another project depending on how this goes.Happy bidding and Thank You... On Aug-28-18 at 09:36:34 PDT, seller added the following information:I done a disc brake conversion on a 1967 Chevelle SS and the drums and brakes shoes look real good, ball joints, etc. looked pretty shot but I am willing to throw in with the other couple of sets of suspension parts should make a good stock suspension all together with some spares parts to boot. On Aug-28-18 at 10:16:17 PDT, seller added the following information:I don’t recall if for sure how much suspension parts need swapped on the original frame but just saying if you come up with about $30. Or about a quart of POR15 a 5 year old could coat the frame and suspension with a cheap brush and it would flow out on its own and look like it was powder coated or new “no joking” the frame is that nice... the guy I bought it frame was offered $1;000 for it before he sold me the whole car, I got a bond and titled it in 2011 so the tittle is defenately free and clear by now, The plates have been in storage sense 2011.The blue one was rusted bad frame, floor lower quarters and all that and would not warrant a tittle. On Aug-28-18 at 10:38:00 PDT, seller added the following information:Okay, I might of been exaggerating a little, it may take a little over a quart of POR15 depending on how far you want to go. I put one coat on a chevelle frame that was not in as good of shape and it looked like it was powder coated so I know the frame that come with this deal would come out nice especially if you take it a step further and put a piece of carpet on the end of a coat hanger and coat the inside of the frame and all the suspension “two quarts would be plenty and it would look awesome” it would hold up good too because moisture is what cures it and locks the rust in tight so humidity is good. On Aug-28-18 at 12:07:17 PDT, seller added the following information:I am starting to recal now that the prime red car has a bent front control arm that is easily covered with all the extra parts but anyway from what I determined what happened someone had a big block like possible a big block Mopar or something in it and was racing and the C-clip come loose in the rear end and the left rear axle come out and the left rear drum and all drug quite a ways down pavement and shaved off some of the rear end like the drum is gone and shock mount grinder off, I can’t remember if there is a differential in it or not, I think there is because I remember counting the gears “I think it was something like 292 gears open rear end, any way there is another complete rear end there if needed. On Aug-28-18 at 12:14:33 PDT, seller added the following information:Plus the rear complete brake assemblies I took off the 67 Chevelle looked to have new shoes and drums looked good and they bothe are off complete from backing plate out to the drum. On Aug-28-18 at 12:52:12 PDT, seller added the following information:So what I was thinking probably be possible to put one of the brake backing plate assemblies on the left rear and weld a piece of metal for the shock mount and drill a hole in it to bolt a shock and put the axle and C-clip back in and you would have an extra complete rear axle assembly extra to sell or use or what ever. You know you want it so keep the bids coming...You won’t find a more simpler restoration project... |
