Description of 1991 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

Want to own a true piece of American Automotive History but without having to take out a second mortgage on your house? Then this excellent 1991 Corvette ZR-1 is just the car for you! The stunningly gorgeous LT-5 engine that sits under the hood was designed in collaboration with Lotus and hand built one by one by Mercury Marine under the direction of Chevrolet and was intended for one purpose. To be a true world beater. It was aimed at Ferrari and Lamborghini but at a fraction of the cost. Costing a then unbelievable sum of over $70000 when new. nearly twice as much as a base corvette. The ZR-1 was truly king of the hill. It is still to this day the only Corvette to be powered by a dual overhead cam engine. a marvel of its time. Even today it is still a car to be reckoned with possessing a very conservatively rated 375hp capable of powering it to 60mph in 4. 2 and the quarter at 13. 2 with a top speed of over 180mph. Unique to the ZR-1 is the coveted "Valet Key" which at the owners discretion allows him or her to reduce power to 250hp for those rare times someone else is behind the wheel. The tires are in great condition. All preventive maintenance has been meticulously performed and I have the documentation to prove it. As an added bonus last year I was fortunate enough to drive her to the National Corvette Museum where by fate and my good fortune I was able to have the former head of the Corvette Division Dave McClellan autograph the engine. Also included in the sale is the very hard to find book "Heart of the Beast" which describes in great detail the entire story of the ZR-1/LT-5 project which is also signed by key members of the project! Don't let this opportunity pass you by! Priced to sell at $19. 95 OBO Cross posted at http://easttexas. craigslist. org/cto/4906333639. html
