Description of 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle

1966 CHEVELLE MALIBU 4 DOOR WAGON

88,076 MILES ORIGINAL 6 CYL ENGINE and POWERGLIDE TRANSMISSION

This Station Wagon is a blast! It rides, runs andshifts well and draws a crowd especially with seniors! Anyone over 60 or maybe even younger can relate to the family “beach wagon” and piling the kids in to go for ice cream or just a ride. Check out the onlyoptionthat was added from the dealership... Chevy logo WHEEL COVERS with the spokes and spinners!!!!

The BODY is intact and in very good condition especially for a 52 year old vehicle. Aunt had it reconditioned back in 1985 when the seat covers were upholstered and some body work was done on the lower rear of the fenders and a few door skin patches. The factory door skins at the jams are excellent and free of rot or any body work. The seals are a bit worn. There are signs of thebody work if you look hard enough but it was never because of an accident and still driver quality now. Hood and Doors and tail gate line up perfectly. Rear window crank works as it should and the tail gate metal is perfect, no rot. The underside is nearly perfect to except where the spare tire rest in the well as the photo shows.. Floor pans and chassis are clean ofrot The lower rear quarter on the drivers side might have also had some work done but it was done very well.

The frame is clean, no rot and even the crossmember under the engine is undented from improper jacking.

A noticeable bonus of this Chevelle as far as I can see is that it is all there! All the trim around the windows and doors, the grille, the tail lights and even the roof rack is there and in very good condition. No need to go running and searching for a missing piece of the interior trim either as far as I can see.

The original drive train is still in car and runs great after it warms up. The carb does have a manual choke in place where the auto choke should be. It has radial white wall tires in fine condition. The oil and filter, plugs, points, coil, etc etchave been changed and a full tune up less than 1 month and 25 miles ago.....this is a driver just the way it is now. Turn the key and go! YES, the heater works great

The dash pad is cracked, the roof liner has tears, the carpets are worn, not all the seat belts are still there, the bottom of the drivers door panel needs replacing and the rear section behind the seatsdoes not have any factory matt or carpet. The windshield may have been replaced and has wiper scratches on the passenger side.

The 6 cylinder has its history back in the days and I do not see very many at the shows. People shake my hand for keeping the 6 under the hood. As far as dropping in a V8 and “personalizing” this wagon it has potential and solid enough to take it. A 2nd GEN LT1 and 4L60 was purchased to drop in but never left the pallet and being offered separately.

If I missed some thing or you have other questions send them to meand I will try to answer them promptly.
