Description of 1971 Chevrolet Camaro RALLEY SPORT

This Camaro was built entirely by the owner, who at one time long ago was a NASCAR

fabricator for Yunick and Holman Moody Stroppe. It was built to prove John Delorean's

suspension engineering was sound as all suspension is still Camaro, just upgraded stock

to demonstrate the quality of the 2nd generation Camaro's ability.

To prove the point it needed to travel in Nevada's Silver State Classic Challenge at high speed.

It is the fastest documented 2nd generation Camaro over a 90 mile run in the world with a

187.5671 mph 90 mile average, 221 top speed and has a 213 mph average over 80 miles.

Videos are included with sale.

It can be restored to all street use or etc if desired as sub frame is still used. Front sheet

metal, doors and interior would be needed. The sub frame will bolt into any 70 to 73

Camaro with just a 1 inch movement of the steering column.

The engine is a fresh 580 CI World BB wet or dry sump, best of Callies, CP, T&D, Moroso

severe duty and Comp inside. 1150 or 1450 cfm carbs are included. It was dynoed as a 572

cubic inch but not at the present 580 cubic inch. It will be above 800 hp. Some minor exterior

engine work and the dry sump oil system would need to be reinstalled to be able to race

this Camaro. Spare NASCAR wheels are included.

It uses a Tex 101A transmission and a cooler, Hayes sintered iron/bronze 6 finger clutch and

2.75, 9 inch rear gears, floating axles/hubs with cooler and disk brakes. It has a Lexan inner

windshield to prevent large bird penetration, a problem when racing near 200 in open country.

It has two Halon fire systems one for the occupants and one for the engine. The 4 inch exhaust

exits at the rear because that is where it should be for cosmetics. 4 inch slide in Hooker muffler

cores are inserted for street operation. It has a 35 gallon fuel cell.

When raced a front air dam is attached and several Lexan deflectors to properly

downforce the car.

See it go by at 216 mph.....

At 75 years of age I need to find this Camaro a new home.

Street driven to shows and charity/special events.

Drive it home if you have the moxie.
