Description of 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS

1971 Chevy Chevelle SS 454 4 Speed ConvertibleI purchased this car as part of a estate collection and unfortunately do not know much about its history. However. I do know Chevelles' very well as I am a avid collector. This 1971 Chevelle is what I candidly believe to be a true SS car. Now was it a LS5 car or 396 car I couldn't tell you. as I have not looked for a build sheet. The car has the F-41 suspension and boxed lower rear control arms and the correct dash and unmolested wiring harness. So. we know it's a real SS. The cowl induction hood is an original GM piece. with the original flapper and vacuum actuator in place. The car is super solid. with all original body panels as far as I can tell. The floors and trunk are spotless. quarter panels appear to be bondo free as well. if someone put quarter panels on it. they did a damned good job!The car has nice options. like power steering. power front disk brakes. tilt wheel. power top. ect. The top is new and has a glass rear window. powers up and down with no issues. When I got the car I completely rebuilt the brakes and front suspensions. The car now rides and stops like it should. The interior is very nice. with no tears or anything like that. Although it does show some signs of use. After all. it's completely original and still very nice. The motor runs great. starts right up. and is very quiet and does not smoke. I know it's not original to the car. but is a 71 block. The trans shifts well. and the clutch engages without chatter and does not slip. The body is excellent with no signs of rust repair. pinchwelds are clearly evident and spot welds well defined at the bottom of the quarter panels. The underside of the car is completely rust free and has all the original pans. The paint is older. but very presentable. with only a few touch ups. Although I have not put a bunch of miles on the car because of the weather. the car seems to run and drive great. I have a large collection and have way too many cars. and need to liquidate some things. This would be a great car to hop in and enjoy. It may require a little tinkering here and there as it hasn't been used much. I don't have the time to go tearing up the car looking for a build sheet. This car would be a great addition to anyones collectionThis car is graded as a #3 car and was recently appraised for $47. 00. 00I'm willing to negotiable heavily with serious buyers. I think I've talked down the car a little bit. but I'd rather have the new owner be pleasantly suprised rather then disappointed. Call me anytime at (312) 622-7533 about the car.
