Description of 1974 Chevrolet Corvette 454 big block |
| A true collector’s item - 1974 Chevrolet Corvette 454 BIGBLOCK Auto T Top. Originally imported to NZ in 2005 by previous owner. Numbers have been matched and evidence suggests that this may be one of the last big blocks ever produced. Exterior body paint work and Interior are completely original (though carpets and trimmings are a little worn as you should expect) complete with a set of original logo floor mats. Original paperwork (including a traffic ticket from 1974 and owner’s manual) also verifying it was bought brand new as a 454. Folder full of service and repair receipts also included. Registration number 4FIFT4 (personalized plate included)Happy to help arrange shipping Mechanical Overhaul includes: All 4 brake callipers replaced with stainless steel sleeved units. New brake pads plus all 4 discs machined. Flexible brake hoses replaced. Auto transmission serviced. Motor overhauled - original pistons but new rings. original valves but new guides. seals. camshaft re-profiled to the pre-smog design. freeze plugs. all gaskets. hoses. etc. Overhauled starter motor. Overhauled alternator. Overhauled steering box. Overhauled water pump. Overhauled radiator (disassembled. rodded through all tubing. re-soldered. then two-pak painted to make the black coating last). All new radiator hoses. New plastic header tank. New air cleaner-to-hood seal. New fuel tank. Re-built carb. Original set of steel wheels. with original centre caps and repro outer chrome rings. New electronic ignition Original (factory correct) chromed ignition shield Replaced drivers outside mirror. plus a right side outside mirror All steering bushes replaced All front suspension bushes replaced. All 4 shock absorbers replaced. All rear suspension bushes replaced. Rear trailing arm bushes replaced. Rear wheel bearings replaced. Diff overhauled (all new gears and seals). Rear half shaft joints cleaned and reassembled Handbrake overhauled. New exhaust Speedo cable and tacho cables replaced. New heavy duty battery.
