Description of 1986 Chevrolet Other Pickups silverado

This truck was built and owned by Smokey Mountain Harley Davidson in Tennessee and has more personality in it's left lug nut then any other truck on the road. If you live in Fort Collins, Colorado I'm sure you have seen me cruising around in it, the truck is my daily driver and work truck. I wouldn't say it has ever been restored, it's just been upgraded and maintained over the years.
It has a fresh 454 with a cam, long tube headers, Summit Racing intake, Demon carb, and possibly head work but I'm not sure. The exhaust roars when you get into it but never drones or sounds obnoxious and it has a nice deep raspy lope at idle. The transmission is a hydramatic dynaflow 315 3 speed automatic that was just built with heavy duty clutches, torque converter and a shift kit. It cruises at 75 no problem and will pull up to 100MPH (GPS Tested). I've never taken it faster but it was smooth and straight at that speed. The cab is quite and rattle free, I've replaced the weather stripping and any bad window gaskets. The rest of the interior has brand new carpet, seats and upholstery, head liner and door card trim. The truck has 2 brand new 20 gallon gas tanks but the drivers side tank has an air leak in one of the rubber lines so it's sucks air instead of gas. I've just been using the passenger side tank. All the brakes and rotors have tons of life left and the rear duallys are brand new. The trailer hitch was originally a bumper tow but has been upgraded to a class 5 hitch with a trailer brake controller in the cab. I've pulled about 10,000 lbs with it and it does really good considering it's age. The truck has no cats so if you have emissions you will need at least those but I'm emissions exempt which would be the easiest solution if you're that lucky. The good news is that it doesn't smoke at all so emissions should be pretty easy.

This is the Silverado model so it has power windows, power locks, AC, cassette player and cruise control

The paint is a polished flat back and is in great shape and the pin striping and lettering is signed "Killer D" I don't know who that is but whoever did it is an absolute professional. All the lines are crisp and everything is symmetrical, you need to see it in person to appreciate the work that went into it. I had the Harley Davidson lettering touched up by Scot Kohler who is one of the masters in the industry. The front is also lowered an inch or two and that rake gives it a really aggressive look.
With a truck like this you are never just done with it. You can always find something to work on so don't expect a perfect show winning truck, it's also not $70k. The speedometer cable is broken, the rockers are replaced, most of the windows work most of the time, the AC is still set up for R12, the radio makes a weird noise sometimes, the cruise control linkage is intact but not hooked to the throttle and several other things. This is a daily driver and worker that just happens to be awesome. I'd hop in it and drive it across America without a second though, it's really reliable, in fact I just finished an 8 hour road trip without any issues.
If you can stand the attention this truck is a ton of fun!
