Description of 1970 Chevrolet Corvette

It's difficult to even know where to begin with this listing without becoming upset. I purchased the car several years back right here off of eBay and contracted with Montway.com auto shipping to get the car transported to me. They, in turn, contracted with a company called Arizona Auto Shippers to deliver the car. I was so excited, a Laguna gray 454 Corvette that I could have restored the way I wanted! The car arrived several weeks later and to my horror, most of the fiberglass front end was missing and pieces of the rear quarters were broken away. If you can believe it the driver decided it would be best to take metal cable ratchets and strap my car down over the top of the car to his trailer. I immediately contacted Montway since that was the company I contracted with and asked what they were going to do. I was assured they would take care of everything no matter what. Assuming everyone was operating in good faith I purchased a new front clip and rear quarters and had a restoration shop start chipping away at the work. Time went on and no money or offer came so eventually I hired an attorney to help me navigate this. It turns out Arizona Auto Shippers has gone out of business and didn't pay their policy premiums and Montway and the insurance company conveniently dragged their feet long enough that the statute of limitations has run out and I'm left holding the bag. At this point I'm sick to my stomach and I want out, I know I'm going to take a huge loss but I don't really care at this point.... I'm just done. I know it's an emotional decision and I'm losing over five thousand dollars but sometimes it's best to cut your losses and I believe this is one of those times.

So here is what I can tell you about the car, as you can see in the photos it is a numbers matching car. The motor is locked up so plan on a complete rebuild and maybe even boring the block. It appears to be fairly complete, I know it's missing one of the lower front grills up front but please look at the pictures and make your own determination on how complete it is or is not in your mind. The two front tires have air leaks, they're great for transport or at the body shop but certainly not the road, I'm sure none of the four are for that matter though. I took a lot of pictures with the car on a hoist, as you can see how solid the car is, it's very solid! There is a bracket under the core support that has two rust holes in it so that will need replacing or repairing and for some reason the tops of the a arms have some pitting and holes in them so when you're rebuilding the front end suspension you would want to replace them as well. The new front clip and rear quarters are screwed on, this is where I pulled the plug after getting the terrible news. With the panels screwed on and not bonded on your body shop can finish it the way they want. The next owner will get a clean slate and can finish the car however he or she chooses and the panels will be glued on and finished out at that time. This is part of the restoration shop's job and they will know how to finish it out, nothing weird at all. It's still a project car please know what you're getting into. It'll be a gorgeous car when done, it's a fantastic color combination, beautiful body style and has the largest engine option available in a Corvette which makes it pretty rare. I do have a clear, open title in my name so it's ready to go. Good luck and please be serious, you're buying the car, not a chance to inspect it. This has been a nightmare and I really don't need someone else making it worse by selecting the buy it now without the ability to pay and then tell me they have a family emergency. I selected the $100 immediate deposit due to ensure the buyer is serious and is at least covering the cost of the auction. I welcome inspections with prior notice. Balance due in 7 days or upon pick up whichever comes first. Thank you for viewing my listing and have a super day.
