1965 Corvette Original Excellent Condition Survivor

1965 CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE ORIGINAL SURVIVOR.

This Corvette is an exceptional example of an original unmolested car. Engine, transmission, rear end and all components are the factory originals that were installed when it was made. Low mileage as documented with all of the records from the 3 previous owners. It spent it’s life in Southern California with it’s original black and gold license plate.

Sold new by MK Smith Chevrolet in Ontario California. First owner lived in Newport Beach, California. Second owner from southern California, bought the car in 1973. Third owner, lived in Encinitas, California, bought the car in 2003 and sold it to the current owner in Dallas Texas in 2017. One lacquer repaint done under factory warranty due to blotchy rally red paint from the factory. Paint is in shiny presentable condition with some nicks, chips and scratches. All window glass and hard top rear window are original along with the spare tire. Frame is excellent and California clean.

In 1980, the car carried Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley on and off the field in the Dodgers season opener. In 1987, the car played a starring roll in John Ritter’s TV series Hooperman.

In 1996, the car earned a NCRS (National Corvette Restorers Society) Bowtie (originality) top flight award.

In 2012, this Corvette served as a benchmark reference for AOS (AO Smith) car anomalies to update the NCRS 1965 Judging Manual.
