The truck wears its original factory two tone paint colors of Ochre and White in an older repaint that was done about 20 years ago. The body is in excellent condition without even one door ding showing. All the exterior trim is intact and show well. Inside the interior was freshened up with a new seat cover/foam, headliner, and new molded carpet with the rest in good original used condition. Under the hood is where things get really interesting. The truck was originally equipped with a factory 402ci Big-Block and 400TH automatic transmission. The second owner purchased the truck in 2002 and at that time was a magazine editor for Petersen Publishing. It was used for a series of truck magazine tech articles, which included swapping out the engine with a more powerful unit. In place of the 402 went a low-mileage 454ci big-block with a pair of brand new GM Performance aluminum cylinder heads and matching aluminum bow-tie intake manifold and Holly 650 carb. High performance headers, camshaft and an MSD ignition complete the package. Dyno numbers are 475hp & 550ft.lbs. of torque! The engine was installed in the truck but that's as far as it got as the magazine editor changed careers. At that point the truck was parked and pretty much forgotten about for over 15 years. We bought the truck and after a thorough cleaning, all fluids changed including transmission/filter, new plug wires, alternator, belts, hoses, thermostat, water pump, brake fluid flush, MSD ignition box, battery and air cleaner were installed. The healthy high performance engine runs Excellent! The old dry rotted tires were replaced with the correct factory sized 16.5â€. Because of the extended storage period, the fuel tank was varnished and has been replaced with a clean original unit. This Big Block C20 is ready for the next caretaker!
