Description of 1966 Chevrolet C-10 --

Trucks with hot-rod sensibilities are always popular, and someone has done some wonderful things with this 1966 Chevrolet C10. From the sinister hot rod shop look, to the perfect stance and the attractive, feature-laden interior, this truck not only looks cool but drives like it should. The mid-60s were a good time to be building trucks, with high style making them much more than basic tools. The stylized and folded lines of this C10 are shown to... great effect thanks to a simple black paint job that was very nicely done a few years ago. As a result, neat details, particularly the crease the runs around the center of the cab, are highlighted in a bold way. Service stations in the '60s had trucks like this out front all the time, although none were this nice but they probably would have loved the custom pinstripes. Add in the forward cant of the fenders that give it a feeling of motion, and you have a truck that looks great no matter what you do to it. The bed has a welcoming look that isn't quite patina but isn't over-done, and the gorgeous lettering on the tailgate leaves no doubt who built this truck. The interior also got a thorough once-over, including fresh upholstery using houndstooth and red piping for a surprisingly sophisticated look and the workmanship is excellent so you know it'll hold up over the long haul. Black carpets on the floor and bright red door panels add some contrast and help control noise and heat. The factory gauges are gone, with modern Dakota Digital gauges living under the stock face panel so they disappear when you turn off the key. A modern AM/FM/CD stereo provides entertainment and it's quiet enough inside to actually enjoy it, and Vintage Air provided the A/C, including those cool aluminum vents. They went the extra mile to make sure everything was professionally finished, so it's an easy place to spend your spare time and other vintage truck owners will admire your good taste. The powertrain is simple, proven, and powerful, with a 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 at its core. The engine is upgraded with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and aluminum intake, ceramic-coated headers, and lots of dress-up parts. Service access is quite good, and with a new alternator and power master cylinder, it's ready to drive. It's properly tuned, so it starts easily and idles well, and there's enough power on tap to make this truck more than entertaining. We especially like the polished brass radiator, a bit of an old-school look that seems right in this vintage Chevy. A 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission diverts the torque to a heavy-duty rear end that's likely the truck's original setup and the dual exhaust system is tucked in beside it, complete with Flowmaster mufflers that sound awesome. The suspension has been lowered to give this truck the ideal stance and there's a new stainless gas tank hanging under the bed in back. Very cool 6-spoke Torque Thrust style wheels look right and reinforce the vintage vibe with a set of 245/45/17 performance radials. A very slick old pickup that has the moves of a much younger, lighter machine. Easy to drive and low-maintenance, it's the kind of hobby vehicle we all wish we could own. Call today!
