N2CARS. LC brings to you for consideration a - 1951 GMC Five Window Original Tow Truck. Has boom with Tire hoist and working hand crank (could use crank redone). Inline 235 Cyl Engine. 4 Speed manual transmission. Runs and Drive good for a 64 year old Truck! Mechanical: It runs and drives good. Clutch is good. Tires are decent but old. The brake have been gone through recently and are in good working order. Horn Works and strobe on top works. Headlights are not working nor are the taillights. We have not went any further to see if its bulbs. fuse or wiring. Gas tank is older and could stand to be cleaned or replaced - doesn't leak. Exterior: It has a premiered exterior from previous owner which was stripped to reveal some of the original paint along with the "Repair Shop" Signage on the door. The body seems very solid with typical rust In drivers cab corner (see picture) Floor pan is solid and has been patched over the years. Passenger side marker light is missing. The tow bed has all the apparatus. along with lots of tow change and other tow related items. It is a Manly Brand Hand Crank Tow bed (see pictures) - Emergency brake does not work. Interior: Seat is in decent condition with a rip on drivers side (see picture) it looks like an original seat bottom and the back was covered at one time. Very basic interior - had a radio but isn't working. This is from what we find a rare truck it is a 8 lug 3/4 ton truck with a 4 speed transmission and the in-line 235 6cyl engine. IT STARTS. GOES AND STOPS!!! Just like it was intended to do. It would be great as a company logo sign for a Repair Shop or Tow Company. Would also make a awesome truck for car shows as I doubt another one will be there.
