This 1961 Impala Bubble Top Sport Coupe is a real tribute to some of Chevrolets best design work ever. We believe it now has all of the badging and equipment to make it into a "Super Sport 409 Package" plus some other extras that weren't available in 1961. The engine is a real 409, 409 horsepower version, freshly rebuilt with the factory two 4 barrel carb setup and using an Isky-solid lifter cam (what sweet music) the Borg Warner 4-speed transmission is shifted by the stock shifter through the shiny aluminum floor console and boot.The power train is harnessed by the new clutch and pressure plate, disc and throwout bearing.
This car has just been completely disasembled and frame off rotisserie restored. No part was left untouched. All new items used on reassembly, such as bushings, bearings, brakes, ball joints, gas tank and lines and body mount rubber bushings. Power steering components etc. The car has power steering and power brakes with dual resorvoir and adjustable proportioning valve. A great new feature is the air conditioning system with a large aluminum radiator to keep everything cool, while listening to tunes on the new digital am fm radio in the stock dash. Complete new correct interior in red to match the overall shiny red clearcoat finish. I call this this my happy car because I smile every time I look at it or hear it running.
