Description of 1955 Chevrolet Other Pickups

For sale today is a 1955 Chevy big window truck. This truck was built in the late `80's or early `90's. A true survivor! It has spent the last 8 years of it's life resting in a garage. It was recently rescued and brought back to life. It is powered by a 350 Chevy 4 bolt main engine that has less than 2000 miles on it since a total rebuild before it was parked. according to the previous owner. It was bored . 030 over when it was rebuilt and a mild cam was installed along with an Edelbrock manifold and carburetor. Headers replaced the stock manifolds when it was reinstalled in the truck. The exhaust is ran out the back with a pair of glasspack mufflers to give it a nice tone. A 350 turbo trans transfers power to a 9" Ford rearend. The front suspension appears to be from a later model Chevy truck. The truck rolls on big and little Keystones and radial tires. The truck could use an alignment. The truck is equipped with power steering and brakes to bring it up to more modern standards. The paint is showing a bit of wear in spots but has definately held up well for it's age! As far as we can tell there was not much bodywork needed when it was painted. The truck is very straight for it's age. The doors open and close very nicely. A custom tube grille was added somewhere in it's life and all exterior trim has been painted black. The glass is decent. The windshield has some light fogging around the bottom but does not hamper visibility. The drivers door window has a single crack in it. The rear window has roses etched in the corners. The bed sides and tailgate are remarkably straight. Extra lights were added below the tailgate but are not hooked up. The wood has been replaced and the strips have been painted body color. The interior has been fitted with a split bench seat that appears to have come from a Regal or Monte Carlo. It is still in decent condition. A period Grant steering wheel sits on a GM tilt column. The dash has been filled with aftermarket gauges. including a tachometer. oil pressure. and water temp. These are the only operating gauges in the truck. The electric fan is controlled by a toggle switch on the dash. The factory wipers are functional. A period Pioneer stereo is fitted in the dash and Realistic speakers are on each side of the seat. The odometer shows 47. 00 miles. We have no idea how accurate this is. The truck has been rewired using an aftermarket wiring harness and includes a new battery.
