Description of 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396

This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle gets everything right: the stance, the Super Sport features, the enhanced big block motor, iconic color, and comfy A/C interior. If you are a fan of horsepower and have been looking for just the right hardtop classic, look no further.
Hugger Orange is an awesome Chevy color. It makes these coupes look brutal and downright predatory when they're done as good as this one. Just one look and you recognize the high level of restoration. The black stripe cuts like a laser through all that orange paint, drawing extra attention to the cowl induction hood. Plus, you have all those SS badges, a blackout front & rear, and hood pins to really show off the performance side. And the upgrade to 20-inch polished Torq Thrust wheels show off extra muscle while also matching the brightwork coming off the form-fitting chrome bumpers.
Since we like all the black accenting on the outside, they decided to give this an all-black interior. It's an upgrade later in life, so it is deep, dark, and inviting. Plus, it really does have all the best pieces, like high-back bucket seats in insignia trim, and there's a center console in-between with the iconic horseshoe shifter. There's a newer Chevy sports steering wheel mounted on a tilt column, and it gives you a clear view to the U14 round gauge package. Plus, you have air conditioning and an AM/FM/CD stereo, so feel free to roll down all the windows on this pillarless hardtop and drive with your favorite tunes.
Under the hood is what you're going to love most about this Chevelle. The 396 cubic-inch V8 looks like a fresh build, and so it's ready for show duty. The big orange block is so bold it practically radiates power from the black engine bay. And the hoses are fresh, there's plenty of bright trim, and everything looks ready for you to simply pop the hood and wait for the crowd to gather. More than just look great, this was made to drive. The big block has go-fast goodies like a Holley Brawler four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Air Gap aluminum intake, and headers feeding an X-pipe dual exhaust. Plus, you have the right supporting components, like a newer alternator, upgraded pulleys, and a big radiator w/twin electric fans. The TH400 three-speed automatic transmission is stout enough to handle this big block power. And this has proper Super Sport features like boxed trailing arms, sway bars front & rear, and SS round gauges so while we can't say 100% (without a buildsheet) the car to be a real SS, it has the features of one. No matter if you're out tearing up the asphalt or just on a Sunday cruise, the power steering, power brakes with discs up front, and modern performance tires are always welcomed driving features.
This is an icon that you'll love to both show and drive. That makes for a total package muscle machine that you need to get your hands on right now. Call today!!!
