Description of 1982 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 C10

We are selling our vintage (1982) Chevy 1500 Silverado pickup truck. These trucks are very desirable. and this is a good solid one. the motor runs strong and my husband's been using it as his "daily driver". It's in unrestored condition but was originally a Texas car (it has been in Indiana for probably five years. we've owned it for two) and so the body and frame just have surface rust -- the worst rust is on the outer tailgate (see photos). There are a few small "dings" and the paint is faded. but overall it looks pretty good for its age. (Note: We aren't sure about the mileage; the odometer only shows 5 digits. so we're sure it's 120. 72 or 220. 72 but don't know which!) Anyhow. here's a list of the GOOD and the BAD. so you can know exactly what you're bidding on: The Good Solid body and frame; very little rust. To the best of our knowledge. it has never been wrecked. Strong. "305" engine. Has a Draw-Tite receiver hitch. as well as the standard bumper hitch. This is the version of the Silverado that was set up for hauling trailers. it also has beefed-up suspension. Just replaced the right-side tie rod ends. Just replaced idler arm. Cab corners are good. Dual exhaust (chrome end of passenger-side exhaust fell off recently. but the rest of the system is good). 3 of 4 tires are good (right front tire needs to be replaced). Rally rims. New seat cover. The Bad No A/C; the compressor unit was removed before we got the truck. Crack in upper passenger side of windshield (see photos). Interior is rough: The seat is in poor condition. the top of the dash is cracked. and some of the interior trim pieces are missing. We do have what we think is an OEM push-button radio. in a box; if the buyer would like to have it. it can go with the truck. Driver's side wing vent is broken; we have a replacement for it. and will include it with the truck The parking brake bracket is loose (might just be a bolt that needs to be tightened). But the brake is in good working condition. Does NOT hold in "park" -- you need to set the parking brake! Driver's-side window will NOT stay in the track! If you lower the window beyond a few inches. it falls off the track. Window glass is okay and the mechanism raises and lowers. There's a bad ground somewhere: The gauges are erratic. and the windshield wipers only work off-and-on. Shift indicator on the steering column doesn't move when you shift (but the transmission is good). Front end still needs ball joints. Will need left side tie rod ends replaced. One of the front turn signal covers (inset. in the bumper) is missing; however we have a replacement. which will be included. This truck has been very reliable. There are plenty of little glitches and things that need to be done. but it would make a good truck for someone looking for a vintage C/K Chevy truck. Whether you're looking for a farm truck or something to restore. it would be a good choice. Please examine the photos carefully. and feel free to write if you have questions. If you'd like to speak to my husband directly and ask questions. just send your phone number and he can get in touch with you. The reserve is very reasonable. so don't be afraid to bid! Available for local pickup only. Good luck. and Happy Bidding! On Nov-16-14 at 12:53:28 PST. seller added the following information:Note: Reserve has been met; the high bidder at the end of the auction will be the new owner. Good luck to all bidders!
