Let us make is clear. this is a RED car. We at CAMPBELL BROTHERS AUTO SALES INC. are offering for sale this 1972 CHEVROLET CORVETTE STING RAY CONVERTIBLE with a 350 V8 ENGINE and 400 TURBO HYDRA-MATIC TRANSMISSION. This car was traded in by a personal friend of ours and he had recently spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on this vehicle. We have a box of receipts showing parts and labor for. new fuel tank. new radiator. new brake lines. new power steering pump. new gear box. etc. Basically every steering component and every suspension component including a new composite rear spring has been replaced. This money was well spent because this CORVETTE drives today as good if not better that the day it was new. The CORVETTE is a numbers matching car in regards to engine and and transmission. The serial numbers of both are listed below. We did not research any other numbers. We are not positive however we do believe the drive-train to be original. From what records we have it looks like this car has spent most if not all of it's live in Central Indiana. According to the trim tag. numbers also listed below the car was originally Elkhart Green with Saddle interior. The colors where later changed to Red on Red. As stated above this is a great running and driving car. It is not however a perfect show car. It still turns heads and gets waves while going down the road. but the paint does has some chips. cracks. and imperfections when you look close. The interior is good but not perfect. The seats were replaced some years back with OEM or like OEM seats but we do still have the original seats. The odometer reads 13. 97 miles. However due to the age of the vehicle we must sell this car to be MILEAGE EXEMPT. Overall this is a good looking. great driving 1972 STING RAY CONVERTIBLE that is only going up in value. CONDITION: EXTERIOR: Overall nice looking car. As stated above it is not a perfect show car. It was repainted years ago and they did a good job. It is however showing its age and has some chips and cracks in the paint. The engine compartment is not highly detailed but is very clean and looks to be mostly original. The convertible top is in average or better condition with the exception of some distortion in the rear window. The hard top ( not pictured ) is black vinyl and is in good condition. The underside and frame of the car is impressively solid. NO RUST. NO PATCH WORK. AND NO SIGNS OF PREVIOUS REPAIR. As Mentioned above. ALL STEERING. SUSPENSION. ETC. HAS ALL BEEN REPLACED. Overall this is a nice looking driver quality vehicle. INTERIOR: The seats shows some slight wear and the are some blemishes on the door panels but for the age the interior looks good. DRIVE TRAIN: Starts. runs. and drives very nice. Start Immediately. runs extremely smooth. Suspension. steering. etc. have all been replaced. SHIPPING and PAYMENT: $500 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours of the end of the auction. If deposit has not been received within 48 hours of the end of the auction the vehicle will be re-listed. no exceptions. Balance due upon pick up.
