Description of 1969 Chevrolet C-10 CST

This 1969 Chevrolet C10 CST really is one of the nicer C10s we've featured lately, and with all the right pieces and that vivid blue paint job, it's a good bet that this one won't last any longer than the others. These trucks have really grabbed the attention of collectors in the last five years, and with the desirable short bed/regular cab configuration, a beautiful paint job, very strong 350 V8, and a great group of options, it's easy to see why these are so popular.

The problem with trucks is that until recently, there was just no financial incentive to restore one to a high level. Sure, driver-grade trucks and work horse haulers are everywhere, but this one got a TON of extra attention, making it not only attractive, but formidable on the road as well. The bodywork is in excellent condition, including the swapped-in 2.5-inch cowl hood up front, and on a vehicle that likely worked for a living when it was new, that's a critical piece of the puzzle. This one shows off that great-looking "Action Line" design to great advantage with the vivid light blue paint, along with the pearl white finish atop the cab, both of which were rendered in two-stage urethane to take advantage of the bright shine that comes with a modern clear-coat application. Lots of bright stainless CST trim makes this truck look crisp and clean, including the nicely chromed bumpers and original egg crate grille and the bed is so nice you'll think twice about hauling, well, anything in it. Although, it has been neatly sprayed with durable bed liner, so it's up for just about any task now. The battery was also relocated to inside of the bed, and the cleared taillight lenses and rear turn signals add an extra little flair to the rear of this truck that looks really cool. We're really impressed with this truck.

The interior was treated to the same comprehensive makeover as the exterior, starting with a nicely stitched CST seat cover that looks authentic with the "Western Scroll" accents adorning the inserts. Basic black contrasts nicely with the bright blue paint, and almost every soft part inside was replaced during the restoration. The matching door panels look brand new and the black carpets are a nice upgrade that most trucks of the period didn't get. The factory gauges are in great condition inside the factory bezel, and a trio of aftermarket auxiliary units installed under the dash help monitor the engine's vitals. It's also nicely optioned with fully functional R134a A/C, which uses modern components behind the scenes to make it reliable. There's also a Kenwood AM/FM/CD head unit inside the factory dash slot, and it pumps tunes through the speakers inside the doors, and heavy-duty rubber floor mats keep the carpets looking clean and tidy. A late-model Bowtie steering wheel was swapped in for the original unit, and it's mounted atop a tilt column that provides more room for the driver to enter and exit the cab.

Chevy's 350 cubic inch small block V8 fits neatly in the C10's engine bay and thanks to a rather comprehensive detail job, it might just be the nicest part of an already really nice truck. The chrome adorning the block really pops against all that shiny black on the firewall and inner fenders and a few of the usual dress-up items look right at home. A Holley 4-barrel carburetor sits atop a Weiand intake, and an Accel HEI system sparks the engine to life with a flick of a key. It's a strong runner and shows recent maintenance work such as belts and hoses, although the wiring could be organized a bit better for a nicer presentation. The A/C system uses R134a refrigerant for easy service and even with long-tube headers, this C-10 has a very distinctive sound with dual Flowmaster mufflers underneath. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission shifts quickly when you crack the throttle and the chassis is very nicely detailed with satin black paint, a shiny dual exhaust system, and lots of new hardware. 20-inch chrome Riddler wheels look great on any Chevy and this is no exception, especially with staggered 245/45/20 front and 275/45/20 rear performance radials wrapped around them.

Plan on seeing more trucks restored to this level as prices continue to rise, but in the meantime, take this one home because buying it finished is still cheaper than doing it yourself and this is a seriously nice truck. Call now!
