Unmolested 1954 Chevy Suburban: Hereâ€™s a rare piece of Americana- an Early 50â€™s Chevy Suburban. Though aged, itâ€™s amazingly straight.And, itâ€™s nearly 100% Complete including upholstered Rear Benches, and Pop-Up Jump Seat. And nice spotlight.
This was arguably the best year for Thriftmasters - it has the more desirable front grill: It also has the upgraded Stovebolt 6 ; more power and fully lubricated.Also, this specimen came with factory Directionals, and a Factory Radio - not common in trucks of the era.
This Suburban was originally a Boy Scout vehicle in N Mexico, then it went to Maine, then Massachusetts where I bought it. Has 'Tornel'â€™ Mexican tires. Original hubcaps.Mechanically- it has correct motor. Motor not turning now. Trans shifts, holds. Parking Brake needs help.One rear window was missing - a custom cut replacement is included.
I have enjoyed owning and tinkering a bit with this. Just beautiful on my property as it is. Plus it's fun knowing how rare these birds are - maybe only 3,500 made this year.
