Description of 1979 Chevrolet Corvette

1979 Chevrolet Corvette 350ci V8 / Four Speed Manual Transmission Dark Blue Metallic on Dark Blue Leather 61,780 Miles VIN: 1Z8789S433284 1Z: Chevrolet Corvette 87: Coupe 8: 350ci V8 Base Engine 9: 1979 Model Year S: St. Louis Assembly Plant 433284: Sequence Number Trim: Dark Blue Leather (292) Paint: Dark Blue Metallic (83) Build Date: April 30th (I30) Engine: 350ci V8 (#3970010) Transmission: Borg Warner 4spd (#773-273-8257) Exterior: Please see the video along with the listing, as the car is shown in detail. Blemishes include a few little paint bubbles on the nose, a crack along the drivers edge of the windshield, and dozens of small chips and scratches. The video will give you an excellent look at the cosmetic condition of the car under direct sunlight. The car wears a respray of the correct original color, dark blue metallic, and presents well. Good driver quality. T-tops are in good shape and fit nice and snug, doors open and close nice and smooth, and the windows seal up nicely to the top. BFG Radial TA tires are in nice shape, with no visible dryness or significant wear, though we aren’t positive as to their age. Polished wire wheels look great, with just some minor oxidation on the fronts. Pop-up headlights are functional, as are all other lights and signals. Interior: Again, please defer to the photos and video. Blue on blue is a great look. There’s a small burst seam on the driver’s outer bolster, as well as a couple little scuffs on the passenger seat bottom. Blue carpet is in good not great shape – not much for wear, but some slight visible age. Original floormats will come with the car, though their color has faded a bit. Door panels are in good shape; the driver’s door panel has a scuff along the bottom, but armrests are nice and firm, not damaged or well-worn. Power windows and locks are functional. Radio and power antenna are functional. Heat and fan are functional. Air conditioning is not functional and the system has not yet been converted to R134a. Odometer is functional, five-digit odometer indicates 61,780. While we do think it’s likely that this is actual, we have no way of knowing. Dash top is very nice. No cracks, warping, or noteworthy signs of age. Interior lights are all functional. This car will come with the T-Top storage bag. Mechanical / Underbody: Please take a look through the underbody photos, as the car is documented in detail. Absolutely no through rust, nothing more than minor surface rust on exhaust and suspension components. The car runs and drives very well. It fires right up first turn, idles cool/steady/quiet, pulls through the gears hard and without hesitation, shifts smoothly, has great clutch feel, and brakes straight and effectively. There’s some minor steering play, no other concerning or out-of-the-ordinary tendencies. As it sits now, this car is ready to be used, enjoyed, and ironed-out as the next owner sees fit. Since purchasing the car we’ve changed the oil, changed valve cover gaskets, and replaced the fuel pump.
