Description of 1989 Chevrolet Blazer K5 4X4 LS SWAP RESTOMOD |
This 1989 Chevrolet K5 Blazer 4x4 has been upgraded to give you an awesome color combo, overdrive transmission, and an A/C interior... but those are not the investments you're going to enjoy the most. What's going to get you loving every moment of this full-size Blazer is the fuel-injected LS V8 that now lives under the hood. The black and silver two-tone on this one is quite striking. It's not just that these are two great colors, but also that they are thoughtfully intertwined. There's a double-silver pinstripe that runs the full length of the SUV and wraps around the tailgate. It's used as a clearly defined border for the two colors, and the silver has the same tone as the lower trim and wheel wells (see what we mean about thoughtful?) Plus, there are well-done coordinating pieces. Both the removable hardtop and the upgraded 18-inch Fuel are finished in a matte black. So they go with the black of this Chevy while still drawing extra attention. The chrome bumpers and polished grille give this some brightwork flair. The total presentation looks nice, but it's also not overdone so that you'd be afraid to enjoy this Blazer to its fullest. After all, usability is part of its allure. That's why you have the tall 4x4 stance, wide tow mirrors, and a trailer hitch with full wiring harness. This was one of the final years for the legendary second-gen K5 Blazer, and these are especially desirable for being quite comfortable. This includes nice factory features, like power windows, power locks, and a tilt steering column that gives you a nice view to the instruments that wrap around the driver. Plus, there are great upgrades, like the AM/FM/CD stereo with aux input for your iPod. The air conditioning has a new compressor and is blowing cold with modern R134a. The front buckets have new CoverKing seat covers, and there's a large center console in-between. The rear seats are an upgraded unit from a later Chevy that include better bolstering and three-point seatbelts for the side passengers. Speaking of the rear, the side panels have been re-done in a durable vinyl and the rear flooring has been covered in a rugged liner paint. That's an ideal structure no matter if you want to use this like a pickup, or if you just want a robust setup for when the removable hardtop is off and your Blazer is open to the world. We bet you've already gone ahead and checked out the pictures of the engine bay. After all, an upgrade like this gets us all excited. The Chevy Tahoe is the spiritual successor to the K5 Blazer, and so it's quite cool to have the 5.3-liter Vortec V8 from one of those transplanted here. They made sure to clearly install this fuel-injected heart so that you'll proudly show off the upgrade. More importantly, they also thoroughly went through the motor, including upgrading the heads. So it runs like a proper modern FI machine should. Power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and the 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission means you have an easy-cruising overdrive machine. Of course, this Blazer was not just made for the pavement. The two-speed 4x4 transfer case, lifted stance, and Toyo Open Country tires give this one the ability to also be the coolest vehicle at the boat ramp or campsite. This is the beefy square-stance Blazer look you love with all the features and upgrades already included. So you know you don't want to miss this deal. Call now! |
