Description of 1974 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

For sale is my 1974 Corvette. This is a real big block car, housing the mighty 454 between the fenders. The car starts and drives as it should the motor has plenty of power and the Turbo 400 transmission has nice crisp shifts. It has an older repaint that is still very nice. the only body and paint issues is a crack in the front bumper and some paint cracking in the rear bumper. I was going to have these fixed, but decided to let the next owner do it. This car has the plastic bumpers that come original in 1974. When I was going to have them fixed the body shop asked if I wanted the original poly bumpers or have fiberglass ones. To buy new bumpers have them painted and installed was $1,800. I have adjusted the asking price significantly because of this. I feel the new owner can decide if they want it original or fiberglass. The dash has not been chopped and is complete to include the original AM/FM radio. Everything works except the clock. When turning on the heat or A/C you may need to lightly tap the counsel, but it comes on quickly. Windshield wipers and gauges all work as they should. Rear window defrost works as well. The tilt steering is a bit loose, but nothing that affects the drive-ability. Tilt and telescoping wheel still works. I'm by no means an expert, but the only thing I know of that is not original under the hood is it has aftermarket valve covers and plug wires. The motor has a CE5 stamping which by talking to folks who know, this is a warranty replacement motor most likely replaced during the first year warranty period. All block casting numbers are correct. There is a lot of new on this car to include: New tires BF Goodrich Radial TA. New Rear trailing arms New real mono-leaf spring New rear brakes to include calipers 2 new interior door panels (only one was needed but bought both. The extra one will be included with the sale) New dual exhaust (also comes with tuned exhaust pipes that were on for only a short time. They sounded amazing, but were a bit load for the wife) New front bearings and brakes New rear sway bar and mounts This car gets the looks. I haven't taken it out once without someone giving me a thumbs up. people gravitate to it everywhere I go. Just getting gas can be like a car show with people coming over and asking questions. I have given many rides and it is awesome to see the smiles on the faces of people who dream of owning one. The 454 emblems on the hood are a huge attractant for the gear-heads and the beautiful yellow color brings over the ladies. If you are looking at this post, you probably already know the collect-ability of this car. There will be no more big block vetts built. This is it! It may be nice to just have a vette, but trust me when I tell you there's little that compares to firing up a big block 454. If two corvettes are side by side and one is a big block, guess which one the people are gathered around. Pick-up/Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
