Description of 1966 Chevrolet Caprice

1966 Chevrolet Caprice Sport Coupe- VIN 166476C120253-1966 was the first year as a separate model for the Caprice. The Caprice was introduced in mid-1965 as anupgrade package of a few hundred dollars over the Impala. 1966 was the first year for the Hardtop Coupeand featured the "formal" roof line.

This particular Caprice was built in the Southgate,California plant, purchased new in theLA-area of California, and resided there with the original owner until sold andwas reportedly driven east in 2006. Itstill retains its original Lemonwood Yellow paint, original black vinyl top andpinstripe, and original black Caprice fabric interior. It has only been driven 51,000 miles (titlereads exempt) and still wears the original California black license tags withthe rear tag frame from the original selling dealer. It is powered by the original 327 ci, 275HPV-8 and Powerglide automatic transmission.Other accessories include hazard warning lights, Power Steering, tiltsteering column, dual exhaust, Soft Ray tinted glass, original “Bow Tie”accessory floor mats, AM-FM radio with rear-mounted antenna, factory wire wheelcovers (replaced the factory "mag"-style wheel covers, but they areavailable instead of the wires), dual exhaust, and OEM-style BF GoodrichSilvertown whitewall tires likely from Coker. The trunk compartment retains its original splatter paint as well as theoriginal spare tires and tools. Theoriginal window sticker, books, Protect-O-Plate, and California registrationsare provided with the purchase of this car, as well as the original numberedkeys. Four vintage road maps were found in the glove box and they go with thepurchase as well. There is a "smudge" in the original paint on thehood about 8" square. Looks likesomeone spilled something on it sometime. Not bad at all, but it's there. Ashtray appears unused. This is awell-preserved time capsule from 1966 and it is indeed rare to find a vintagecar like this in this condition.
