For your consideration is a 1951 3100 Chevy 5 window survivor. This Old Chevrolet pickup was pulled out of a barn in California where it had been sitting since 1968 (VIN numbers show that it is an original California truck built in Oakland). The previous owner started to build it into a cool Hotrod/ Ratrod by adding a 283ci with a 4speed granny box behind it. Casting/stamping numbers on the engine seem to I. D it as a 1964-68 Camaro 283ci. this means the motor was nearly new when it was park due to the owner passing away. The body is as solid as can be. I have been unable to locate any rusted thru panels only surface patina that looks amazing. This is a TRUE patina that only comes after decades of nature at work! Only the minimum has been done to it to preserve the time capsule of a Rat Rod/ Hot Rod that it was built as in its era……… Here is a list of the parts that have been replaced – - Aluminum Radiator - Electric Fan and shroud - Edelbrock 600cfm carb + fuel pump - New original style fuel tank - Cap. Rotor. wires. coil and points - Alternator + Battery - Water pump - Smithy’s Glass pack exhaust - All Brake shoes + front wheel cylinders - Ignition and light switches - Wheels + Whitewall radial tires - All fluids The truck now runs great and brakes work. I have used it to for beer runs and an occasional burn out on the back roads! This is an awesome truck that has not been taken too far in any direction so you can build it to fit you or just keep it the way it is.
