This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air has the sleekness and V8 rumble to be a true dark horse. And you even get to control it all with a five-speed. But while you'll love the aggressive outside, we bet you'll also love the leather-lined A/C interior. So this one creates an iconic package that gives you everything you want. This is the product of a two-decade restoration the consignor has owned this car for 20 years and has carefully crafted it into a Bel Air that has an appeal that goes beyond the iconic silhouette. You can tell the paint is a professional application by the way it simultaneously has a terrific gloss while also looking like it consumes all the light around it. The black makes for the ideal backdrop for all the brightwork we love on these '57 Chevys. The wide smiling grille, twin rocket-style hood ornaments, full window trim, and intricate rear bumper all shine like mirrors. And the full sweeping side trim that fans out at the tailfin is an icon all on its own. But you also want to tell the world that this is a seriously upgraded classic. So there are some subtle details, like the expertly deleted badging and the upgraded crystal clear headlights. The engine bay has a fantastic look where the dark inner walls really funnel your attention to big investment in polished engine components. This is a younger crate motor, and it comes from the era when Chevy was really pumping out serious horsepower with these 350 cubic-inch small blocks. It inhales deeply with a four-barrel carburetor, and headers let this exhale with power while feeding the dual exhaust. The V8 fires up with a strong feeling that it wants to get out and drive. Plus, features like power steering, power brakes, and an aluminum radiator with electric fan are there to keep this an easy cruiser. But the front disc brakes, wide BF Goodrich T/As, and control of a five-speed manual transmission mean this Chevy also know how to have some serious fun whenever you want.
