Description of 1967 Chevrolet Camaro

Tribute muscle cars always seem to mimic the big-dollar real-deal machines, but this beautifully finished 1967 Chevrolet Camaro is a smarter choice that brings lots of fun and killer good looks in a car that doesn't pretend to be something that it's not. After looking at so many undocumented SS and RS clones, this one's unassuming nature is quite refreshing, and it still gets all the long stares and wide smiles when you take it out for a drive.
The recently refreshed paint looks like spot-on match to Bolero Red - the car's original color - and the attention-grabbing hue gives the Camaro a racy look without seeming out of place, because Camaros were always about getting noticed. For fans of the simplicity of the early Camaros, it's easy to see why the car was such a runaway success when it first hit the market and before we even knew what "SS", or "RS", or "RS/SS" for that matter, ever meant. The bodywork is quite well done; just look at the kick-up behind the doors and the sharp crease that runs the length of the body, neatly bisecting the doors and rear quarter. Up front there's a white bumblebee stripe around the nose, and both the chin and rear ducktail spoilers are always welcome additions, and there aren't many Camaro fans who won't love the slightly aggressive cowl hood up front and the simple one-piece dual taillights out back that are part of the package of this slick 1st Gen car. Chrome is quite good throughout thanks to big bright bumpers, and the even the gas cap was spared the usual "SS" treatment, opting instead for the classic Bowtie badge to complement the rest of the "327" and "Camaro" emblems on the car.
Matching the bright paint perfectly is a set of freshly restored red-hot buckets that greet you when you climb aboard. Fresh dark red carpets and beautiful door panels that match the seats complete the slick look inside, and it's all very close to OEM, right down to the fact that code 741 Red is the car's original interior color code. This one also carries a few neat upgrades, including a set of digital gauges inside the custom bezel just ahead of the driver, a leather-wrapped steering wheel that has a cool, powdered-coated look inside, and a retro-style AM/FM/iPod stereo that sounds great. There's also a shiny T-handle shifter inside the factory center console, a bright red dash pad that protects the neatly painted dash, and a taut headliner above. The tinted windows really make the cabin feel ultra-luxurious inside, and there's plenty of room for a couple of friends in the back seat that probably hasn't been used since this '67 was restored. Open the deck lid and you'll find a very tidy trunk wearing correct spatter finish paint and showing no signs of the dreaded tin worm.
Power comes from an ultra-clean and sweet-running 350 cubic inch V8 motor. Finished in Chevy Orange with a bunch of cool dress-up items, including a finned air cleaner and valve covers, a chrome alternator, a bright aluminum radiator, and polished billet pulleys that manage the accessories, so the engine bay really sparkles against the black firewall and inner fenders. A Brawler 4-barrel carburetor, polished Holley aluminum intake manifold, and shorty headers are traditional ways to improve performance without compromising reliability. There's also a new alternator with its own polished bracket and a giant aluminum radiator up front that keeps a small block chilled without effort. The power is easily managed via a smooth-shifting TH350 3-speed automatic transmission, which feeds a heavy-duty 12-bolt rear end with a chrome cover and newer spring perches and ladder bars. Dual Flowmaster mufflers give it a snarling exhaust note and the stance says "high performance" in no uncertain terms with the wheelwells stuffed full of slick 17-inch polished HotWheels wheels and 235/45/17 performance radials.
Well built, clean, and a lot of fun to drive, this is an awesome Camaro in great colors and just a bit of attitude. If you're weary of early Camaros that are just a little too perfect to be enjoyed, this is a great alternative. Call today!
