Description of 1987 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4x4 |
Low mileage, premium trim, a loaded A/C interior, 4x4 prowess, and the original 5.7-liter V8 under the hood all make this 1987 Chevrolet Silverado instantly attractive. And when you notice how carefully preserved this truck is with just the right upgrades to continue its everyday usefulness, it proves it's an irresistible total package. This Silverado likes to impress with its originality. As you look over the whole pickup, you see a straight, clean, bright, and crisp total package that is quite hard to find today. It starts with straight body panels, and the premium Silverado trim that really helps show it off. This one is even finished in its correct metallic silver paint. It looks good and stock, but not perfect, and that's because we were told the only time it was given a respray was directly from GM. So it looks particularly impressive in the way it has lasted for over three decades without any aftermarket touching it. In fact, the only places you're likely going to find the aftermarket are upgrades like the bed rails and liner paint protecting the bed. It makes for a nicer appearance while adding to this 4x4's ability. And while this is versatile, this Silverado has not been pulling much work duty. The low odometer is believed to reflect the truck's actual mileage, which means it has averaged less than 1,700 miles annually. That kind of low use is a sign of a respected truck, and it's a theme you'll see throughout. The well-appreciated and premium feelings continue inside. The dark charcoal presentation is believed to be highly original, and low mileage means little wear. The comfy velour bench seat, carpeting, door panels, dash, and all other fundaments continue to have the look and feel of quality. It's quite easy to get comfortable in a truck like this because the full dash panel wraps around you and there's even a tilt steering column. The upper-end Silverados came with nice factory options like power windows and power locks. Plus, the stereo has been upgraded to a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner with Bluetooth. And the factory air conditioning is now blowing cold with modern R134a refrigerant. Open the hood to see the original numbers-matching 5.7-liter V8. This is from the era of fuel injection, so it makes for quite a nice package (especially with the clean presentation and added headers.) When you run out of roads, the powerful V8 feeds Chevy's tough 4x4 drivetrain. The two-speed transfer case, auto locking hubs, and BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/As can readily get you out of most trouble. Besides off-road, this has all-around driving appeal. The 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission has highway-friendly overdrive. And this one really makes it easy to for the long haul with options like cruise control and dual fuel tanks. Add in power steering and power brakes with front discs, and this is a great any time driver. The sale comes complete with the original warranty card, title documentation, and owner's manual. This is the true vintage 4x4 that's also loaded and ready for today's world. Don't miss this total package pickup, call today!!! |
