1951 Chevy Truck Short Bed Hot Rod Patina Shop Truck

Time to very reluctantly let this project go. You can drive it as is as--one hell of a patina shop truck--or finish it out as a show truck! A ton has been invested and it’s a great driver just like it is or drive it as you customize to your liking. Own your own business? 1951Chevy Model 3100 Short Bed 3 Windowtruck. Clear title in my name, title matches factory number VIN plate on the truck. Title in hand, ready to sign over to new owner.

Body:This was an original, red paint, complete Nevada desert truck shipped over tome years ago. No rust through anywhere- (except for the little rat nest spots in the cab corners- cut out and repaired.) Cab, doors, roof, floor, hood, super nice original. Bedsides and tailgate/chains are decent original. Bed floor is metal S-10.

Brand new repro front and rear fenders, grille assembly, andfront bumper. Brand new windshield and rear cab glass and rubber moldings.

The cab, doors, front fenders and hood have a light coat of primer now. Front bumper filler panel/mounts, nice original running boards/mounts, original Chevrolet front grille guard, go with the truck. Repro shop manual. Original door vent glass/mechanisms. No door glass, but tracks and mechanisms are there. (I was thinking about changing over to 1948 style single piece door glass.) All the interior window moldings and dash moldings go with the truck. You do have to open the doors using the inside door handles.

Upholstery.Real World War 1 Army blanket seat cover, Mexican blanket back cover on the original seat frame with new foam.

Frame:1990 S-10. Only mod was to slightly move rear axle/mounts back to match the original 1951 truck wheelbase. Factory S-10 steering system was not altered. New steering column for the truck was done to match 1951 style- so it looks correct inside.

Look at the photos-wheel base and track width are perfectly matched to stock 1951 short bed truck. Cab and bed mounts very nicely done.

Drives straight and smooth. Factory power disc brakes, all the wear items in the steering and suspension replaced. Gas front shocks, air shocks in back. Bell Tech dropped front spindles, factory S-10springs. Brand new factory S-10 fuel tank, electric fuel pump, new lines.

Engine/Trans.Rebuilt Turbo 350 automatic trans/new convertor. Rebuilt 305 HO small block Chevy engine. Lunati Voodoo hydraulic 268 cam, lifters, roller rockers. Sounds/runs great. New Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and Performer manifold, Headers, new alternator, huge four core radiator with electric fans on relays- runs cool. Motor is “dressed up” with 327 style rocker covers and air filter for old school look. Full dual exhaust from headers, turbo mufflers, exits at the back.

Other: Lokar tall auto trans shifter. Old school steering wheel-gages installed and speedo works. (fuel tank gage a bit onery.) Dash has a metallic gold vinyl wrap.

Turn signals, all lights, brake lights, work fine. Battery with cut off switch is mounted under the seat. All new wiring harness, no issues. Tires are new repro Coker redline radials, wheels are new 15 x 7 torque thrust style mags for an old school look. Factory radio block off plate installed (and sort of fits). No air con or heater- this is a summer nights drive in toy.

To make it perfect for you will require your own fine tuning. Truck has always been stored inside since I have owned it. It is preferred that you ask all questions before bidding as each bid is a contract to buy this truck.
