Description of 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu

I just bought this car back from the person I sold it to 20 years ago. It is one of a few Chevelles that are unmolested, it still has original 2 barrel carb and a single exhaust system! It is also a very solid car with original metal.
EXTERIOR: I believe it has it's original metal. It is straight and fits exceptionally well. Every panel is square and flush. The bumpers fit the body perfectly. I was especially impressed upfront where the hood meets the headlight bezels, they never fit this good. The repaint is well over 20 years old it still shows really well. It does have some minor imperfections-chips and nicks. It is polished out to a very glossy finish, even the SS stripes are smooth to the touch. Upfront the bumper, grill and headlight bezels are all excellent. The windshield is new, the stainless trim is straight. Mirrors and door handles have been replaced. In back the bumper was rechromed, taillight lenses replaced. Original rally wheels are in excellent condition including the chrome trim. BFGoodrich tires look like new. The door jambs were repainted, weatherstrips are replaced. The black power top works fine and is in very nice shape. The weather strips are replaced, it has a glass window.
INTERIOR: This is not a new interior but it looks very nice and it's unabused. The black upholstery and headrests look very nice although there are some seams pulling apart on the lower driver's seat. The door panels and armrests look real good. The dash area is not beat up or broken. The instruments, lenses, heater control panel is very nice. It even still has the original AM/FM radio and it's factory location. Below the dash is a neatly installed gauge cluster. In the glove box the light works and the owner's manual is sitting there. It has it's original GM seatbelts front and back. The interior lights work.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Original #s matching 350 motor. Not molested or monkeyed with it. It even still has it's original two barrel carburetor, how many Chevelle's are in existence that still have that. Overall it's been maintained, cleaned up and spray painted nicely. It was upgraded with a more reliable HEI ignition. There is a little bit of chrome to dress it up. It features factory air conditioning, power steering and power brakes. The a/c system is complete buts needs to be serviced.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Super solid, clean original metal trunk compartment. Very rare to find a dry trunk in a convertible. Then I looked up and inside the quarters, it's also the original metal. I don't see any cuts or splices. It has a gray spatter finish paint. The trunk mat is showing it's age. It does have a matching rally wheel for a spare and complete jack assembly. The bottom of the trunk lid is painted nicely, jamb has nice clean seams and spot welds. The weatherstrip still looks new.
UNDERSIDE: Really nice original metal. The areas where the undercoat is flaking off there is perfectly clean factory primered floors. Even the inner rockers and lower 1/4s are clean metal. The bottom of the motor is clean, starter, fuel pump and flywheel cover look new. The Turbo 350 automatic is clean too. Springs and shocks look new. It has disc brakes in front, e-brake cables are hooked up. It still has a single exhaust system, that's rare to see on a Chevelle.
I feel this is a good honest car that is not perfect but has great integrity. It fells and functions better then most. Don't get me wrong, it looks great too! Finding an unmolested Chevelle convertible with a/c, power steering and brakes with metal this clean won't be easy. Actually I just made it real easy- here it is!
